I enjoy my career and l am a loving, caring person. l am a carer who always put others first. To me caring is not just for money but it's inside my heart, we can have all the degrees but without a caring heart, we are nothing, it comes from the inside. l will describe myself as a genuine carer. I started caring in 2006, l worked in a care home from 04/2006 till 12/2010, l have also worked as as a Healthcare assistant. My job was to assist elderly service users to manage their life in a day to day basis, I assisted and cared for individuals with different needs including those with mental health issues. I gained a lot of experience and l enjoyed every day of my job and l was so excited about being a carer for someone's life, l felt so special and professional for being part of the team. I have moved to another company till now, l have worked as a live-in carer since 02/2011, l worked with lots of service users with different needs, and l gained a lot of experience. I am qualified to NVQ level 2 certificate in health /social care industry. NVQ level 3 in health & socialcare and NVQ level 4 in health & social care diploma. My job is to assist and protect service users from harm or danger, support service users to live their life independently, assisting them to take their medication, attend appointments, outings, medication monitoring and ordering, promoting and administering etc. Monitoring service user's health issues and reporting any issues to my line manager. Sharing information and keeping their information confidential. Working with care team to achieve goals eg Doctors, Nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists etc. Assisting service users to prepare their meals, consume and fluids intake monitoring and promoting. We support service users to fully enjoy their lives making sure any boundaries and barriers are removed for service users, monitoring, recording of information and phone calls including times, also reporting any issues to line manager.

If a clients personal possession is damaged or lost while at work Surewise can provide 250 to cover the cost.
