I have extensive experience of working as part of a team in a registered care scheme and I have provided care and support for adults with physical and learning disabilities. My experience was initially developed whilst working at a Children's Homes, however these skills have now been honed within my current role at with an agency, I provide direct personal and practical support to clients who have a range of support needs, such as MS, Learning Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy and old age. My role has been to enable them to improve their quality of life, mental and physical wellbeing. I assist in the development of their support plans and I assist service users with practical daily tasks within their home and community and enhanced by my experience of working I utilise my excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure that I understand the needs of service users and ensure that I am able to provide effect support that enables them to be active participants in their care. Through my practical work experience, I have an understanding of the issues affecting people with learning disabilities and I provide support on a person centred approach.
