As I was living with my sister then, I helped in managing her care needs as well as activities of daily living. she was born partially blind, deaf, doesn't speak and also ended up in a wheelchair. As a carer I have got experiences in a diverse field eg hospital, care home, home care, community as well as school. I happen to be a great listener who understands the importance of service user' information strictly confidential. My aim is to encourage service user to do as much as they possibly can for themselves and not take away their independence as well as maintaining effective communication all times. I also know the importance of maintaining dignity, respecting their wishes and also considering their preferences. I can be quite flexible with time and rates depending on certain conditions.
