Whilst working as a care assistant, I worked with residents performing personal care whilst upholding dignity and respect with every resident. As a well-being coordinator I got to know each resident on a much more personal level, and would ensure that each interest a resident had was taken into account when planning activities. Creating a personal, whilst still professional, relationship with residents is my favourite thing about working in care, as building trust and respect is so important to me to ensure each individual is shown that they can be comfortable and a that they are an important part to my life, rather than care just being a job to me.
