I went through the training required, but as with many jobs, I learnt most when out on the job caring for clients. I met some wonderful people who I still see today and quickly decided that caring is my calling. Personally, I have shared caring responsibilities for two of my grandparents who lived with dementia in very different ways. I appreciate that individuality in care is of the utmost importance; I understand that every person is unique and in turn reacts to their illness in a different way. I am happy to help with personal care, housework, companionship and trips and appointments.
