Before joining care I had the abilities of a carer and provided some level of care to a family member. I would regularly visit my Aunty who was eager to mainly have companionship from someone preferably close to her. We built a great bond over a period of time, I would help her with some cleaning around the house, sorting and filing through paper work, assisting with showering, shopping and we would usually cook together. I believe I am a very compassionate, empathetic and a respectful individual who values building positive and trust worthy relationships with clients. Hence, delivering the very best level of care whilst maintaining a high standard of professionalism is vital when supporting clients as every individuals needs and wants vary. Also, keeping up to date online via the e-learning modules and regularly attending re-fresher training ensures that I am informed and aware when dealing with a client who has a different health condition. I am a strong and confident communicator who is friendly and keen on meeting new people, I am reliable and patient which increases the likelihood of the client gaining trust with the carer as this gives the client a sense of ease and comfort. I hope to take forward with me, further improve and develop all the qualities, knowledge and skill set I have already achieved and apply these where possible with future clients.
