I like to empower people to help them to remain as independent as possible in their homes. I have a gentle and compassionate approach and I am genuine and easy to get on with. I am a UK Registered General Nurse, no longer pin registered and I trained at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. I gained so much experience from my nursing training that has helped me greatly throughout my life and it has especially helped me with my work as a carer. I worked for five years as a trained nurse mainly in Orthopaedics, Elderly Rehabilitation and Rest Homes. I gained a lot of experience working with people with late onset dementia from my work in Rest Homes. For the past fifteen years I have been working as a community support worker. I have a wide range of experience with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, cerebral palsy and the elderly. I left nursing to work in the community as a carer mainly to have more time with clients. When I was nursing there was very little time to sit and have a chat. I really enjoy being able to build up a good rapport and relationship which is so important for the client to feel comfortable with me. I also enjoy the one on one support I can give which I find very rewarding. In my spare time I enjoy walking in nature, yoga, travel, reading, going to the cinema, eating out, going to a nice cafe and taking my dog Poppy to the beach. I also studied Healing and Homeopathy and I like the holistic approach. I am passionate about healthy lifestyle and good nutrition. Please get in touch if you think I could help.
