I taking time to understand the costumers as a person and adapted my support to match their likes, dislikes and interests. I prioritised customer’s safety at all times and I am highly vigilant. My experience and knowledge of working with those living with Dementia, meant I am able to balance safety with the opportunity to continue to provide life enhancing experiences. For example, I took a customer on a two week trip to Spain where I live. The customer was able to swim in the sea, which really enjoys and visit the sights of Barcelona. This was a fantastic opportunity for the customer and the family. I use to managed the running of customer’s houses, organising maintenance and alterations where they were needed. For example, I organised the adaptation of the bathrooms to accommodate a floor level walk-in shower. The houses of my customers are always kept spotlessly clean. I ensure to provide to my customers healthy home cooked food, monitoring customer’s weight and hydration levels. When the customer developers additional medical needs such as poor mobility and sight loss, I adapted the care support package to ensure customer was able to exercise and continue to receive stimulation. I organise and attend a range of medical appointments and added guidance from medical professionals to customer’s care package. For example, speech and language therapy linked to swallowing. My high expectations and tenacity meant customer’s medical referrals were rigorously followed up and chased where necessary. I treat all my customers like a member of my own family. My level of care and support for them and their family was more than they could have ever expected. Interested to work in Winchester area.
