To further my knowledge and passion for working with people I took a health and social care advanced course and took a week experience in a day centre that involves working with people who suffer from difficulties in communicating and having learning disabilities. Additionally to further my interest in working with/around vulnerable people, I completed a course in child care and safety. Throughout this course I was able to gain valuable experience of working with special needs children. While this was very challenging I also found it an extremely rewarding and enjoyable experience as it helped to broaden my understanding of working with people and also how to deal with children and adults with disabilities.I am experienced in the areas of; personal grooming and I enjoy helping clients look their best, assisting with hygiene, toileting, eating, cooking, cleaning and any administrative tasks which need support. I have a full clean driving license and take pleasure in taking clients out to meet friends. My journey in care started when I lost my mum to cancer, after caring for her for years. I decided to carry on with care. At first I started volunteering in care homes and hospitals on my free days from work before I eventually started pursuing it as a passion/ career. I love reading romantic and fiction novels (J.K Rowling authored fiction are my favorite..lol), Indoor and outdoor sports are also my thing especially games.
