I am passionate about providing the highest levels of care to individuals and supporting teams to prosper. I have been lucky enough to work as a registered manager supporting a team to grow their knowledge and understanding of aging, and in turn, watched the positive impact that has on those receiving care and support. Working as a registered manager, I ensured that feedback questionnaires were sent out to families in order to monitor satisfaction, over the course of 12 months, as more training was implemented, the satisfaction of families improved significantly. Residents felt happier that their needs were being met as they were more understanding about the impact of aging and how it affects daily living. Robust Person Centred care plans were produced that ensured residents needs were met and they were able to fulfill their own personal goals. Having worked in management I understand the importance of good communication across teams and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to bring their ideas and knowledge to the table to improve the lives of those in our care. I aim to promote a blame free culture that is open and transparent to everyone, concentrating on learning and improvement rather than problems. This approach allows everyone to take ownership of their own role and feel they have the opportunity to contribute towards improvements. I have experience of managing a budget for businesses in both customer service and a residential settings. I understand how to prioritise budget needs for maximum outcome. I am confident working to KPI’s and ensuring timely achievement of company objectives. Having taken over as registered manager of a home struggling with safeguarding issues and an embargo, I was able to work quickly and effectively to ensure the embargo was lifted within 3 months and we could continue to accept residents and, therefore, continue to be profitable. I was comfortable liaising with CQC to ensure I fully understood what they wanted from myself and my team and action improvements immediately. This included producing policies and procedures that were current and reflected up to legislation. I have a particular interest in Dementia Care and enjoy working with individuals and families living with Dementia. I have developed and delivered training in Dementia which was delivered across Devon County for teams working in residential and domiciliary care settings.
