LS14 1JR 151251 My name is Elizabeth, I Am a Ghanaian. I have lived in UK for 15 years now. I have been a support worker for 9 years. I provide support for physical, mental, emotional and social needs. I love cooking , reading, watching movies. In my free times, I help and keep company with my elderly friends. What makes me a great carer is I have empathy and the ability to put myself in the shoes of the people I care for. I always greet my clients with a smile and a positive attitude. I am always positive and encouraging. I encourage the people I care for to do what they can and I support them where needed to ensure they are living as independently as possible. Their mental health and wellbeing is being attended to if required. I am reliable and respectful of choices. I am dedicated to being on time and understands that being late can affect the routines of the people I care for. I make sure my clients are always comfortable, safe and their needs are always met. I am observant with excellent communication skills. I am a good listener and easy to talk to. S11 8BP 203546 I ventured into the care sector during my first year of university. My mother has been a carer and currently works as a mental health nurse. She has always shared her experience with me, helping me understand what it takes to be a carer and what to expect. Her guidance and inspiration have been instrumental in my decision to become a carer and now I’m currently studying for my MSc in Mental Health Nursing. I find it fulfilling to look after people, helping them maintain their independence and everyday lives. I enjoy interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and learning about their life experiences. When working with female clients, I feel a sense of connection, and we can relate to each other easily. I have worked in various care settings, including residential, community, forensic hospital, care homes, and nursing homes. My experience working as a carer has equipped me with skills such as compassion, effective communication, observation, attentiveness, organization, patience, and empathy. Outside of care, I am a makeup artist with a passion for creating unique looks for myself and my clients. I have been doing this for a few years and find it enjoyable. I also love cooking, and while I wouldn't call myself a chef, I enjoy preparing meals for family and friends. During the first lockdown, I started a small business making meals for people to order which was a great experience; I still do it from time to time. I also enjoy working out at home and in the gym, constantly challenging myself to set and achieve my fitness goals. If you would love to have me as your carer feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
