SW6 7UB 1070 Hi, my name is Joanne and I have been in the care industry for over 9 years. I became a carer from a personal experience. I have a slight disability with my arm and have limited use of it but this does not stop me working and caring for others in a professional way and am still able to use hoists and provide personal care plus a number of other duties. I have managed to follow my passion regardless of my own disability, which is supporting clients live independently in their own homes. I have experience caring for clients in residential homes, nursing homes in the community doing door to door care and I have also provided live-in care also. I have always had a passion for care and looking after people, I have always wanted to do care from a young age ever since I started helping my mum care for my grandma who suffered from a mental health illness. I also get on well with people and I am always here to provide companionship and support. I am often told that I have a great sense of humour.

SW1V 4AU 85828 As a person with extensive experience in caring I have come to understand that having the ability to deal with people; not just an ability to get along with them is vitally important and it makes a lot of difference in their wellbeing. I deploy an empathy-based approach and authenticity when dealing with any expected or unexpected difficulties of my duty as a carer. I am proactive with a professional attitude enhanced by more than 10 years of practical experience working as a Support Worker and Carer. I have always been keen to develop personally and professionally and as the result, I undertook many Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training to mention a few: *Empathy and Knowledge of Others , Thinking about Oneself and Others, Aggression, Responsibility, and Self-harm. These trainings were organized jointly by Oxford University and Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation. If you think I will meet your caring expectations, please get in touch and I'll reply as soon as I can. Thank you. Please note that I live in London and I am prepared to travel outside only for live-in position.

It was not something I'd imagined while studying computer science at Cambridge. Many years were spent in the tech industry, but that career did not give me any personal satisfaction. While living abroad 20 years ago, I was struck by a car whilst walking on the pavement. As a result, I spent months in hospital and in recovery for the better part of a year. I became a carer two years ago, and I draw upon this experience and channel my empathy to all the men I look after. In the years I've been a carer, my personal approach to care-giving has yielded significant results. To give one example: the connection and trust I built with one 93-year old gentleman led him to stop sleeping on the living room sofa and start sleeping in his hospital bed in his bedroom for the first time in years. He'd been very resistant, but now sees the benefits: he cited having a good night's sleep and less back pain. Preparing fresh food for him also made a big difference, and he is now eating at least one full meal a day. In so many small ways, I know I am making a difference - from ensuring their hearing aids or internet connection are working to connecting with their friends or medical assistants, my approach can best be summed up as personal, tailored, and empathetic. I principally serve SW15, but please call me if you are slightly outside that area and I believe that I can help you.

W11 1TY 267134 As a dedicated care worker with 14 years of experience, working in domiciliary care in my community and for the last 8 years I have worked in the same care home for the elderly. I’ve learned that being a great carer means: Empathy and Compassion: We listen, celebrate joys, and share sorrows. Patience and Understanding: We move at their pace, assisting with care. Advocacy: We fight for dignity and rights. Resilience: Small victories keep us going. Kindness: Simple acts create lasting connections. Being a great carer is a privilege—a chance to make a difference. I am currently working 3 shifts per week in my current role where I know my rota 1 month in advance, I am looking for regular clients that I can work alongside my current job. I am flexible on the sleeping I can offer Monday to Friday but I prefer to do 2 nights per week. When working with clients I enjoy cooking healthy well balanced meals, when starting out with a new client I like to sit down and discuss what they enjoy eating. I am happy to offer light household cleaning and keeping the clients home free from falling hazards. For maintaining mental health of my clients I am happy to take them into their local community whether that's is out for a day trip, coffee or their local community centre. I am experienced with working as part of a team of care professional but I can also work independently as well I am also happy to learn new skills if required to call for any of my clients. I am looking for longer shifts of more than 3 hours. I am looking for female clients only.
