Recently I looked after a 91 year old man with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's and Dementia and a 98 year old lady with Dementia, to provide her full-time carer a break, on a relief basis. I provide: • Companionship – sharing conversation and spending time together • Personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing, and when necessary, continence support • Helping with mobility – some customers need assistance getting around the home • Overseeing medication – all according to the customer’s care plan • Household chores – help around the home, such as vacuuming or washing clothes • Preparing and cooking meals • Running errands – assisting with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions Here’s some feedback from one of my’s referees: "Shashi provided 24 hour care, she was responsible for all nutritional needs and administration of mums meds as required. Shashi did all the washing and household chores, she was great companionship for mum and myself during what was a stressful time for myself and my husband. She would be a great asset to any family" ~ SM I looked after several elderly men and women, including a 89, 86 and 98 year old clients. My longest live-in care position was for 15 months when I looked after a 91 year old man with Parkinsons Diseases, Lewes Body and Dementia.  RG1 7HP 84814 I was a live-in carer for two years and have been a pop-in carer in the Berkshire and Oxfordshire for two years. I was the companion and sole Carer to a 92 year old lady with extensive physical disabilities and changing mental ability through two national Covid lockdowns. After released from a three week hospital stay during the second lockdown I nursed her and took responsibility for her physiotherapy. Under my care physiotherapists said I was more beneficial to her recovery than their occasional visits. The area Occupation therapist has praised my abilities as a Carer, motivator and companion under extremely trying conditions. I bring empathy and the ability to motivate people. The family have provided me with a reference which I would happily pass on to future Clients. I have managed daily finances, household maintenance, correspondence and medical issues. I have looked after children, adults, and able and bedbound clients, providing personal care, cooking, gardening, cleaning the house, washing and ironing, shopping, and socializing with the clients and their friends and family. I love working as a carer, being in this industry has taught me to be very respectful towards the needy, they are individuals, and their dignity should be respected irrespective of their current situation. I have looked after members of my family who needed care and I have concluded that it may be me one day so I do my best to be a good carer regardless of who my client may be. I love to work as a carer, even though I get paid, I am offering a service and I make sure I do my best to make my client feel comfortable and assured. I love to cook especially cooking a balanced meal to suit the needs of the client. I am flexible in my cooking and always ready to learn new skills. I can drive but do not have my car, I am willing to drive my client's car provided they have insurance that will cover me driving their car, I have driven for over 30 years. I am happy to have my 2-hour break every day or can have a day off in a week whichever the client prefers. I would like to have a two-week settling-in period and can work from 6 weeks, but would like a week halfway between the long period that we agree that I work. I would like my travel expenses paid for both to and back from my home.
