In the case of mobile floor-based hoists, safety regulations require that a second trained person is available to assist. This may be another care professional or a suitably trained family member or friend. •     Geographical coverage: I’m happy to support clients in most of England and Wales, up to about 300 miles from my home in the southeast. •     Driving: I have a clean driving licence and full business insurance, and drive a large vehicle in which wheelchairs can easily be carried. I’m more than happy to transport and accompany clients to appointments and social engagements (with the exception of religious services). Mileage is charged at £0.45 per mile for outings and travel between my home and the service user’s address. •     Pets: Unfortunately I am allergic to cats and therefore unable to work in households with them. Other species of pets are no problem. •     Smokers: On the topic of allergies, I’m also allergic to tobacco smoke and therefore unable to work in smokers’ households. •     Night support: If you require support at night, we can discuss the extent and nature of such support, as it may attract fees or a need for additional care personnel. •     How long will I be with you on any given occasion? I have worked as a live in carer, respite carer, and for seven years I worked as a care supervisor for an agency. I have vast experience in all areas of dementia and Alzheimer's, Huntington's, MND, MS, strokes, Parkinson's, the autism spectrum, mental health, Angelman syndrome, plus other conditions. I cared for my father who suffered from Motor Neurone Disease, and my mother who suffered from Parkinson's. I have many certificates and have attended seminars on most of the above. I also have a car, a current Advanced DBS certificate and indemnity insurance. I am registered with NACAS. I am hard working, very patient, empathetic and enjoy making peoples lives that little bit better through care and kindness. I have years of experience in palliative care and suprapubic catheter care. Unfortunately, I am very allergic to animals (I have mild asthma) so sadly, I cannot go into a house with pets, nor a house where pets will be visiting whilst I am there. I do apologise for this.
