I have also worked as a home care worker supporting elderly with varied needs, for example, physical, mental and dementia. I have carried out tasks required of me with empathy and understanding. I carry out the duties with a smile and a friendly attitude. I am trained to administer medication in any form. I am also trained to administer epilepsy rescue medication. I am able to communicate with social workers, medical professionals when the need arises. I have worked for many years as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and other conditions. I have been successful at ensuring the adults I support access activities outside their home and also access friendships. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused difficulties for adults with learning disabilities and the elderly to an extent they have become isolated much more than free leaving adults. I have worked with this group of adults to support them as much as possible while at the same time keeping them safe. I am trained to support all adults with physical needs to transfer from all possible situations and also to access personal care.
