 KY16 9XW 241112 Availability update, Sept 2024 - Hourly: I am now available for short hourly assignments in the Fife and Tayside areas, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays only. Live-in & overnight: I will be available continuously from the 19th to the 30th of December (inclusive) for one-off live-in and overnight assignments, anywhere in the UK. --- I am a Scottish lady with a Law degree who decided to go into care and housekeeping. I started medical school in St Andrews on the 7th of September this year and hope to combine this with occasional hourly care assignments in the local area, as well as live-in work during holiday times. I have been a carer since late 2021, undergoing full residential training with a live-in agency. In my time with the agency I gained experience working with MND, learning disabilities, Parkinsons, stroke, catheter care and late-stage dementia, among others. In May 2022 my friend had a stroke and I was invited by her family to move in and help her to recover. I lived with her as a carer and a friend until June 2023 when she sadly passed away. Since my friend's passing I have worked with a variety of clients through Curam, as well as with a private client from October until March this year. Up to this point my references have been uniformly positive. I have two 'Excellent' recommendations on Curam. I would describe myself as independent, conscientious and an organiser. If your environment is very cluttered or disorganised, this would need to be sorted out before I can start working with you. I do not charge clients for travel to or from placements. I have a full driving licence (manual and automatic) and am insured to take clients in my car. Two practical points: 1. I cannot commit to a placement until the Service Agreement has been approved. Recently (May 2024) a client made a firm offer but pulled out several days later, on short notice. 2. I ask clients to settle their invoices before work begins. Because of a difficult experience in the past, I will not travel to you until this has been done.  KY4 8PA 236975 Having gone through rigorous training and also having worked in care homes for over 6 years looking after children, young adults and the elderly, I see myself being confident and able to handle lone work as a self-employed individual. I am a compassionate and enthusiastic carer with a knack for taking care of the vulnerable ones in the comfort of their residences and also in the care homes. This aspect of my work ethics is very natural with me, having worked hand in hand with my mother who retired as a nurse. I had time to understudy her in how she helped the elderly ones during which we visited them in their homes and provided their personal needs ranging from personal care, administering medication, dressing their wounds and keeping them company, also with the practicals I undertook during my school days in the United Kingdom and partly during my stay over there . As it stands I look forward to doing that again because it makes me a fulfilled being seeing that I could render services to the elderly and the vulnerable ones empathetically and with compassion and make them happy. I can work conveniently alone with no supervision. Teamwork, honesty, kindness and empathy are my usual way of life. Some of my hobbies are Music and dance, research, cooking, exercise both indoors and outdoors, writing and presenting reports. My strength is tailored towards Kindness,effective communication, dedication to duty, never wanting to leave tasks uncompleted, I am trustworthy and reliable. Some of my attributes in offer are managing people, organizing, planning, taking initiative and effective communication and excellent report writing. I have acquired enough skills in moving and handling, Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy(PEG) feed, Dementia care levels 1&2 to name but a few, mostly on complex care. I have done live-in care and domiciliary care with specialization in incontinence management and I can always prove my experiences in these areas. I had taken care of an individual with Last stage dementia and one with Parkinson's disease who used PEG to take medication. Finally I work hard to meet the satisfaction of my clients and my service users and also commit a lot of unsocial hours to my work ethics knowing full well that if there are no service users, I do not have a job.
