As I have worked in different service provision organisations Such as care homes, hospitals, supported living and live in care my areas of core competence are: • Ensuring that the vulnerable service users under my care receive the best of care at all times which is person centred, • Ensuring that the vulnerable service users under my care are treated with dignity and respect • Supporting service users in all aspects of their day to day living and ensure that the service users live a fulfilled life filled with choice and enjoyment • Maintaining professional boundaries which protect service users, colleagues and myself • The ability to identify signs of abuse in service users and being able to assist service users to seek more help in that respect. • Record keeping, report writing, assessing risk, working according to policies and procedures of the organisation and the ability to apply legislation • Creating a safe working environment and networking with relevant professionals in the provision of quality care to service users under my care such as, doctors nurses, teachers, social workers, the police, therapists and lawyers. • The ability to work with service users from diverse ethnic backgrounds. • The ability to listen to service users.
