Understanding dementia with alzheimer's society

BN11 2JE 60628 Hello I have been a carer for the last 23 years and have been lucky to work across different sections in care. I have experience working with people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Acquired brain injuries, Downs Syndrome, Epilepsy, Alzheimer’s , Dementia, Palliative Care, Sensory Impairments & Mental health conditions. I’ve worked in residential homes, supported living settings, day centres, hospices & predominantly community support work. This has strengthened & developed my skill base & knowledge. I have very strong person centred values & take great pride in my work. I have good listening skills and am an empathic carer. My training is kept up to date via Qintil & FuturU healthcare training. Curamcare registers all its carers with NACAS (National Association of Carers & Support) which offers access to various training sites including the NHS learning portal. I am also registered on the VPCR (Voluntary Professional Care Register). I love animals, bring amongst nature , walking & meeting people from different walks of life & being creative. Music is a big happy part of my life as is reading & watching good movies, and of course family & friends. Cooking is another enjoyable past time for me & I have fun with trying different dishes from around the world. I have good time management & can be flexible with hours. I’m very happy to assist with dog walking for clients and cat care. Rates do not include any parking charges if the client lives in a residential parking zone. This will need to be discussed in interview. Please contact me if you have any questions or if you feel I can be of assistance. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Best wishes Ntiana

I have managed centres for people living with dementia symptoms, I managed services for the Alzheimers society and worked closely with palliative care and continuing care support services. Within these services, I initiated the need for care support plans to change , to improve support to people being cared for and their carers. I devolped the care plans for local Authority Services that provided palliative care funding and support, making them more person centred and inclusive. I am passionate about people and wherever possible to enhance quality of life and promote independence. Care is personal and very unique to each person, I am mindful and very supportive of choice in the way people wish to be supported. I moved to West sussex from London 9 years ago where I changed my career as Registered Manager and began part time work with Alzheimers society, then on to various private care. My change came as I decided to pursue my hobbies of craft and teaching mindfulness and meditation into a part time business, which Is offered through care I provide and inclusive for carers and families. I have remained supporting people with care needs,as this is set in my heart and is something I care very much for. Through my career I could see there was much more needed than essential care and decided to include, mindfulness meditation and techniques to help support people to manage life's challenges as they are happening, reducing stress and anxiety and improving wellbeing. I enjoy cooking, gardening, walks along the downs, swimming, fitness ,reading and have a wide range of music interests . I am friendly and calm by nature and have the ability to listen and support people the way they wish to be and am mindful of privacy. I am naturally compassionate and will endeavour to make sure people I work with feel they have my support, trust and understanding. I have a good sense of humour and a positive approach in life. Please note that my hourly rate is £22,non inclusive of parking. If you live in an area where parking restrictions apply, we will need to discuss parking rates , due to the costly rates some areas charge, or of course we can look into parking permits the council authorise for carers . Bank Holiday Rates will be at 1.5 , exception of Easter, ( Good Friday & Monday) Christmas Day ,Boxing Day and New Years Day which will be charged at 2x hourly rate. I occasionally I work add hoc weekends (when I have availability), please note the weekend hourly rate is £25.00ph . The rates are based on support for 1 person , I am happy to support a couple where it is safe to do so and open to discuss rates with you. thank you Best Wishes Michelle

BN14 9AP 253348 My name is Diana, I'm 43 years old, and I have 3 years of experience as a live-in carer (the same client) and 8 months of nursing home experience. I love my job, and I like to believe that as a carer, I can help people to get by easier with day-to-day life and bring some sunshine into their lives. I'm patient, kind, trustworthy, and understanding, and I like to listen to "old stories." I enjoy visiting places as parks, museums, and even the beach on a beautiful day. If your loved one doesn't have a care plan in place to follow, don't worry, we'll put one in place together. I have a full driving license and my car, I am a non-smoker, and I love animals. I am a flexible person, and if you think I can help, just leave me a message, and we can chat. Thank you for reading my statement. P.S. I know my appearance is the first one you see,but it gives me a chance to prove my qualifications and performance in my job as a carer.
