BN9 9SZ 158808 Hello, I'm Rachael. ☺️✨ I love helping people. Especially helping them retain their independence for as long as possible! Also giving respite to stressed/ struggling family members & helping their loved ones to find peace & dignity near the end of their lives.✨ I'm really looking forward to meeting my next lady or gentleman that I will bring sunshine & smiles to the life of! ☺️✨ I will be your personal assistant & do my best to make every day of your life one of the best days of your life! I thrive on appreciation, so I always try my best to provide a good service. ✨ I'm compassionate, caring, friendly, respectful, experienced & hard working. I have 32 years experience in total of caring for others & doing housekeeping duties & I can clean to a very high standard! I have done it full time for the last 13 years & can provide excellent references from my previous employers. I enjoy my job and like talking with clients as I perform my duties if they like that too. ☺️ I have a lot of experience with people who have dementia and also who have had a stroke. My skills include; cooking, driving, great companionship & I love animals, horses, dogs and cats especially. ☺️✨ I am experienced in personal care and I enjoy helping clients look their best. ✨ I can assist with hygiene, toileting, eating, cooking, cleaning and any administrative tasks which need support. I have a full clean driving license and enjoy taking clients out to meet friends/see places/performances etc. ✨ I am primarily looking for a live out job, but I would consider a one week on, one week off possibility of living in. I love looking after other people & helping them lead a healthier and happier life & have the best quality of life for as long as possible. ✨ A couple of years ago one of my elderly clients very sadly passed away, but before she went, she asked me to look after her beautiful little fur baby called ‘Tilley’ so I became a dog Mummy with absolute honour & pleasure! So if you like dogs, I can bring her with me if you'd like me to, as she's a fantastic therapy dog and I promise you, you will fall in love with her and look forward to seeing her as much as you do me! ✨x If I sound like the sort of person you would like to have helping you at home, I'd love to hear from you to arrange a time to meet up etc, so please feel free to give me a call/message me etc. Rachael (& Tilley!)☺️✨x 1 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

BN3 3HT 10861 I have been a carer for six years. I hold an enhanced DBS and I update all my carer training every year. I am English, brought up in Sussex, but have lived, taught (English as a foreign language), raised two daughters in Greece over the past 35 years. I am very energetic, well educated, able to think around things and get things done, love nature and animals, yoga, painting, walking, writing and reading. I speak Greek and am extremely interested in other cultures. I lived and worked as a teacher in Saudi Arabia for a year and a half and I have written several children's books. I follow a plant based diet so I cook dairy free but love cooking generally and can cook excellent Greek, Indian and British food. My success as a carer has been because I am willing, friendly and capable of doing anything I'm required to do.I have had experience with many different clients ranging from those recovering from falls, to early dementia or just companionship and the security of having someone to help with everyday living. I am efficient and able to run a house smoothly. I enjoy looking after any pets or animals that a client may have. I love being outdoors, gardening or walking. I prefer a position that is companionship and light medical, which involves household duties and any shopping. I do drive but prefer not to have unless absolutely necessary, as I'm used to driving on the other side of the road to the UK. Having said that, I am willing to drive but not on motorways. I am generally very positive and calm which I think is an important part of being a carer. I believe in respecting the clients privacy in their own home whilst at the same time being supportive and available for their every need. I am available for respite care( if the permanent carer/family member needs a holiday) or for three to four weeks at a time. Ideally part of a rotation with another one or two carers is what works well for me as my permanent abode is in Greece. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

Understanding dementia with alzheimer's society

BN3 5RA 60825 A strong calm sensitive person who enjoys helping adult and elderly people live the best life they are able. Reliable,kind and gentle and able to adapt to the needs of my client. Learns quickly what help a person needs and able to assist them to organise their lives to include trips to beauty spots and tea out. Good ability to liaise with other professionals to get the support they need, whether from gp, optician, dentist, or social services. I can also drive them to appointments. I find out what meals they enjoy most and make sure they have as wide a variety as possible of fruits and vegetables. I enjoy cooking and am able to cook meat based traditional meals and plant based wholegrain meals. When I cook roast chicken, I make many meals afterwards, including soup from the bones. I was brought up on a market garden and enjoy helping in the garden. I love nature and the countryside, music, Art, books, reading aloud, poetry and crossword puzzles. I understand the benefit of going out to sit in nature, a concert, or having friends round, and I am happy to facilitate social occasions and make sure they are centred around the person I am caring for. I know how to be in the background but can also be sociable if invited. I have worked as a student nurse in Brighton hospitals for 1.5 years, as a domicilliary carer in Brighton for 2 years and in a care home in Hove for 2 years and have been a live-in carer for 8 years. I have looked after a gentleman who had Alzheimers, from diagnosis, as his live-in carer until he had to go into a care home because his house was unsuitable when he could no longer walk. His family are happy to give me a reference. I have been a live-in carer helping a woman walk again with rehabilitation exercises given by a physiotherapist. Also looked after a woman after she had had a hip operation, helping with exercises and going for walks. As a qualified Shiatsu practitioner (dip Shiatsu massage) and a Reiki practitioner and teacher of many years, people find my presence very calming and reassuring. I like to laugh and see the humour in most things and am able to laugh at myself. I am calm in a crisis and have done first aid training many times. I worked as a volunteer in Brighton in St John's ambulance service for over a year. I believe that healthy people, if behaving responsibly and testing very regularly, should be able to choose whether or not to have the Covid vaccination, and I am not going to have the vaccination at present. I protect my health rigorously and test regularly. I do not work with people with extremely challenging or aggressive behaviour but understand everyone, especially if they have a debillitating illness, need to express their frustration at times. I generally only work with couples if they have very few complex care needs. 2 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

Understanding dementia with alzheimer's society

PO18 8QT 47831 I have been a Healthcare Assistant with an NHS Trust for the 17 years, both within Psychiatric Intensive Care, Forensic and Dementia Assessment Units, as well as providing cover for Residential support and Adult Acute wards. Within this time, I have dealt with many aspects of challenging behaviour and have been privileged to be involved with many service user's paths to recovery. I have looked after people with substance abuse issues and clients with Schizophrenia, depression and many other mental health diagnoses. My most recent position, working with acute dementia patients has been by far the most rewarding of my time in mental health care and has given me a greater knowledge base in physical care. I have 1 year's experience in live-in home care, during which, I had extensive experience in dealing with palliative care. During my time working for the Trust, I have been part of the team which was key in implementing the Care Zoning Process which was introduced Trust-wide before being presented in America, and have developed an interest in therapeutic interventions, such as helping clients achieve an understanding of their daily living skills, an understanding of a healthy diet, and helping them to recognise and develop any skills or interests they have beyond this. It's important to me that a service user recognise they have an identity that surpasses the sum of their mental or physical health diagnosis and helping them to embrace this can have a positive impact on helping them to achieve and maintain social inclusion. I consider myself a valued member of the team and, have always been able to slot in well on all the wards I have worked on, and whilst I have no desire to embark on my nursing training, I consider the post of Healthcare worker a valuable position in it’s own right. My strengths in working with one-to-one care, my close collaborations with the Occupational Therapy Department, and my ability to think on my feet, are traits that I am well known for. I have a natural passion for care, am compassionate toward my clients and have a calming personality for managing a client's agitation or anxiety. My experience, over the years, has led me to recognise the Live-in Care would be an ideal progression in which to fully implement the skills I have developed during my time working in the NHS. Having a close-knit family myself, I also recognise the value of home care in enabling the client to preserve the home life they richly deserve rather than having to face the upheaval of a residential home or long term hospital admission. Outside of work I have an avid interest in travel. I am an independent backpacker and try to travel at least once a year, as I enjoy experiencing the culture and often find that travelling 'off the beaten track' introduces basic challenges and experiences that a package holiday often will not. I feel that getting back to basics often provides me with a healthy and liberating balance away from work. I also occasionally work as a portrait artist but have not to date pursued this fully as I find my work in care far more rewarding, but still enjoy my creative pursuits on a personal level. I hope this statement gives an idea of both myself as a carer and who I am on a personal level, and I would be more than happy to expand on this further if I am considered as a candidate for this position. Thank you for taking the time to read this, Karen {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}
