CV1 2JT 126234 I have a strong passion for helping others and an innate desire to see people reach their full potential and help them live independently as possible. I possess a combination of experience, empathy and enthusiasm that uniquely qualifies me to be an excellent carer. A key factor in my work as a carer for the past two years is effectively communicating with residents and understanding their requirements. In this regard, I am adept at building trustful relationships and fostering mutual respect. Moreover, I remain open-minded and strive to recognise any additional services they may require. Ultimately, what drives me to succeed is empowering the lives of vulnerable people and enabling them to become independent.

CV3 3AE 137894 PERSONAL STATEMENT:  ALOIS M  I am a pro-active individual with a variety of skills obtained from my current and previous roles.  I am committed to providing to the best of my ability, person-centred, compassionate and culturally competent care. I am a compassionate, caring, and enthusiastic, self-motivated with a positive attitude and possess good communication skills both verbally and written.  I have undertaken various tasks in my current role as a healthcare assistant by caring and supporting our service users with their daily activities, responding appropriately to the physical, emotional and developmental needs and supporting them with their goals and increasing their independence. I   continually challenge myself by pursuing opportunities to develop my skills and in turn apply those skills in my day to day practice to ensure that the people I support gain full value from my knowledge. In my current role as an HCA, I provide care and support to autistic patients in a medium secure unit. In this environment, I have learned to provide competent compassionate and safe care as part of the nursing team, for example doing risk assessment before escorting on community leave, daily documentation of mental state and management of risk behaviours according to their care plans. I also understand the importance of understanding a person’s cultural and diversity needs, and how this may impact on the way we assess risk and care provided.  I feel prepared and equipped for this challenge and believe I have a lot to offer as a nurse having worked across environments such as high secure forensic wards, medium secure forensic wards, locked rehabilitation and special schools. I have worked with patients who present with symptoms/ behaviours associated with mental health problems and a diagnosed learning disability/ autism. Initially I started working with autistic children in a school environment. Using tools associated with sensory integration to help relieve their anxiety. (Use of low stimulus environments, with the use of sensory lights for example.) After many years working in mental health services I have become passionate about supporting people who are challenged by mental ill health and learning disability. I find fulfilment in being involved in the patient’s journey to recovery. I am keen to expand my role in delivering this service and am ambitious to achieve a nursing degree in future   In terms of my own development I have enthusiastically pursued all learning opportunities open to me and continuously challenge myself to broaden my knowledge and understanding. I have acquired NVQ level 3, Learning through work and currently studying level 4 certificate in mental health. I value the opportunities the charity has given me, both encouraging my own development and creating an environment where I could witness and participate in the  delivery of compassionate, respectful care delivered by practitioners that value accountability and are ambitious for excellence.
