TN2 5LT 38777 Hi, my official name is Imre but please call me Erika, I'm a Hungarian woman. I started my carer job as a live-in carer in New York in 2009 with elderly people. I choose this job because I like to help people with a daily routine, cooking, preparing medications, going to the therapy, to be a good company. Since 2018 I continued this job in England. I have better experience here because of the equipment what I can use during the moving and handling. My hobbies are walking in the park, shopping and listening music. Happy to do night job and hourly job daytime. 2 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

BN20 0DS 66650 I am a Companion/Carer/Housekeeper and enjoy working with my clients and see myself as their 'enabler'. I feel rewarded when I have enabled my client to live a full and happy life. My background involved caring for many family members who lived with chronic health issues. My career was mainly in administration (in the NHS and Social Services) and I also gained a degree in my late 30s. I am also a qualified TESOL (Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages). I decided on a change of career six years ago as I considered I had the life skills and experience to offer support to elderly clients and their families. Some of my clients were all living with Alzheimer's. This environment can be demanding and challenging, but with empathy, resourcefulness and common sense I have succeeded in creating a calm environment for them to flourish within. Through an Alzheimer's Awareness course and extensive reading I continue to increase my knowledge regarding this condition. Above all, I would say I am continuingly learning from my clients. Everything I do is completely 'client centred' with the aim of maintaining dignity, agency and independence. I demonstrate initiative, am organised and reliable and like to think I have a warm and friendly nature. I work well within an integrated 'team', which usually consists of family members and health professionals. I am a competent cook and can adapt to any specific dietary requirements. In my spare time I enjoy writing (mainly short stories and poetry) and I have a great love of history, architecture and natural history (I am a member of the National Trust). I have good listening, communication and observational skills and I am well travelled. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1, 4, 3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1, 4, 3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1, 4, 3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

BN3 3HT 10861 I have been a carer for six years. I hold an enhanced DBS and I update all my carer training every year. I am English, brought up in Sussex, but have lived, taught (English as a foreign language), raised two daughters in Greece over the past 35 years. I am very energetic, well educated, able to think around things and get things done, love nature and animals, yoga, painting, walking, writing and reading. I speak Greek and am extremely interested in other cultures. I lived and worked as a teacher in Saudi Arabia for a year and a half and I have written several children's books. I follow a plant based diet so I cook dairy free but love cooking generally and can cook excellent Greek, Indian and British food. My success as a carer has been because I am willing, friendly and capable of doing anything I'm required to do.I have had experience with many different clients ranging from those recovering from falls, to early dementia or just companionship and the security of having someone to help with everyday living. I am efficient and able to run a house smoothly. I enjoy looking after any pets or animals that a client may have. I love being outdoors, gardening or walking. I prefer a position that is companionship and light medical, which involves household duties and any shopping. I do drive but prefer not to have unless absolutely necessary, as I'm used to driving on the other side of the road to the UK. Having said that, I am willing to drive but not on motorways. I am generally very positive and calm which I think is an important part of being a carer. I believe in respecting the clients privacy in their own home whilst at the same time being supportive and available for their every need. I am available for respite care( if the permanent carer/family member needs a holiday) or for three to four weeks at a time. Ideally part of a rotation with another one or two carers is what works well for me as my permanent abode is in Greece. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"3","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"3","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"3","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"3","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"3","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"3","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"3"}

Understanding dementia with alzheimer's society

BN3 5RA 60825 A strong calm sensitive person who enjoys helping adult and elderly people live the best life they are able. Reliable,kind and gentle and able to adapt to the needs of my client. Learns quickly what help a person needs and able to assist them to organise their lives to include trips to beauty spots and tea out. Good ability to liaise with other professionals to get the support they need, whether from gp, optician, dentist, or social services. I can also drive them to appointments. I find out what meals they enjoy most and make sure they have as wide a variety as possible of fruits and vegetables. I enjoy cooking and am able to cook meat based traditional meals and plant based wholegrain meals. When I cook roast chicken, I make many meals afterwards, including soup from the bones. I was brought up on a market garden and enjoy helping in the garden. I love nature and the countryside, music, Art, books, reading aloud, poetry and crossword puzzles. I understand the benefit of going out to sit in nature, a concert, or having friends round, and I am happy to facilitate social occasions and make sure they are centred around the person I am caring for. I know how to be in the background but can also be sociable if invited. I have worked as a student nurse in Brighton hospitals for 1.5 years, as a domicilliary carer in Brighton for 2 years and in a care home in Hove for 2 years and have been a live-in carer for 8 years. I have looked after a gentleman who had Alzheimers, from diagnosis, as his live-in carer until he had to go into a care home because his house was unsuitable when he could no longer walk. His family are happy to give me a reference. I have been a live-in carer helping a woman walk again with rehabilitation exercises given by a physiotherapist. Also looked after a woman after she had had a hip operation, helping with exercises and going for walks. As a qualified Shiatsu practitioner (dip Shiatsu massage) and a Reiki practitioner and teacher of many years, people find my presence very calming and reassuring. I like to laugh and see the humour in most things and am able to laugh at myself. I am calm in a crisis and have done first aid training many times. I worked as a volunteer in Brighton in St John's ambulance service for over a year. I believe that healthy people, if behaving responsibly and testing very regularly, should be able to choose whether or not to have the Covid vaccination, and I am not going to have the vaccination at present. I protect my health rigorously and test regularly. I do not work with people with extremely challenging or aggressive behaviour but understand everyone, especially if they have a debillitating illness, need to express their frustration at times. I generally only work with couples if they have very few complex care needs. 2 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

RH19 2DR 275070  I had to describe myself in three words, I would say: reliable, caring, loyal.  I have been working as a live-in carer in the UK since 2017. Until now I was working clients with spinal cord injuries. But I also have experience with people living with dementia, MS, Parkinson's disease, Down syndrome. I worked with my last client from 2020 to 2024. The most important thing for me is mutual trust and respect. I like to having conversation, but I'm also good at listening when I need to. I always keep in mind that the client I work with should feel as comfortable as possible. To achieve this, I try to quickly learn their daily routines and habits, support them in what they need help with, but also allow them to remain independent.  I like to cook, either alone or with the client, for example following his/her instructions if he/she is physically limited.  I read a lot, especially fiction and am a big movie lover. Since 2011 I have been practicing a wonderful martial art, TaiJi. Contact me, and I’ll reply as soon as I can.
