PA15 1YD 228495 I have worked as a healthcare assistant and carer over the years. I started from care home , then moved to nhs. I was in the peak of Covid working as HCA in emergency department king’s college hospital in London. I decided to progress by enrolling to do nursing. At the moment, I am a second year student in adult nursing and I still work as carer at my leisure. It is my responsibility and duty of care to protect people I am caring for. I know that for anyone to depend on care services, the person must be vulnerable in one way or the other. However, everyone is different and persons centre care must be considered. Looking after people helps them to enjoy at least a bit of quality of life. Assisting either patients, client, resident most time prolong their lifespan. It is my duty of care to make sure people depending on my services have up to date assessments. They must have choices and liberty towards their desires. I have passion for my career. I am so in love with putting smile on people face base and getting positive feedback from them. I have done a lot of indoor trainings with king’s college hospital which they do not allow us to go with the certificate. They have issued me with my care certificate which covers the indoors trainings. I will be greatly grateful to work for you ( service users) and your families. However, I will make sure I make myself flexible to suit my service user. Your care is a priority. I believe that this is the right time to join as healthcare assistant or support worker, then come back in near future to practice as a registered nurse when I get my pin. Thanks

G81 5AJ 295285 I am a registered nurse with a vast experience in acute and community care setting which includes nursing home care . My long years of service have prepared me to work with different groups of patients and people with different health needs such the disabled, the elderly, dementia, autistic, challenging behaviour and those with some type of limitations in carrying out activities of daily living that need support but would like to continue living in their own homes. As a nurse I have appreciated the need for individualised care and working on one to one will give that opportunity to promote that aspect of nursing and giving the individual the respect to make choices and promote independence.

PA2 6XJ 73748 Hi, my name is Danielle and I would like give you an insight of how I cared for my loved ones the responsibilities I took upon myself to learn and learning a lot from the ones I cared for, the different needs others have and how I could care for and assist my clients in my role. Helping to dress, undress, putting on slippers shoes showering or top & tails if this is difficult for them depending on their day. Housework duties, washing ,cleaning, hoovering, ironing, changing bedding and other things when needed. When sometimes things go wrong for them TV (major for my loved ones) simple things like changing batteries, sorting cables, lightbulbs, phones home/mobile. Healthwise I know how important medication is and would make sure they get theirs when needed, I changed dressings ( only with healthcare providers instructions) I can help with foot care I can cut nails and generally watch out for things that can go wrong especially if there diabetic my dad had quite a few over the years and they need treated asap. I sorted out all the appointments, hospital, doctors/nurse, podiatry, dietitian,INR clinic. I am more than willing to work with a family member to make sure you loved one is taken care of over the years I have seen many things due to my father's health this has given me the skills to provide others with the care I can offer. I like to play games dominoes or cards and even jigsaw puzzles and i'm willing to try other games (Teach me something new) I have a serious side and I have a fun side too I will fit to their preference. I like to talking to others I love hearing about their lives especially older people there stories are fascinating at times I'm a good at listening and one to one time I feel is important again if that's what is needed. I can reassure anyone that I will respectfully understand your loved one, I will treat them with compassion and look after them like they were my own. I understand from being a carer to my dad for so long that's all I ever wanted ( I had medication prompt for my dad and 4x daily when he had 2nd TIA) as it is always on your mind that they are getting looked after I promise you I will do that. I am willing to answer any questions before hiring me especially if you are just unsure!! I want to share with you how I got to be a carer, To start when I was a teenager I used to look after my Autistic nephew when my sister needed me holidays or respite. I started looking after my elderly father in 2009 full-time after he had a turn when we were shopping I was classed as an unpaid carer I devoted my time to him any time of the day and night we worked well together and I knew him so well, I got to learn when he was unwell even a urine infection in an elderly person is bad causes confusion, he had diabetes rheumatoid arthritis (mobility was bad) cellulitis on very swollen legs (fluid) recurring diabetic ulcers, gout (stopped him walking at times) chronic kidney disease ( high potassium) diet was crucial, he had x3 TIA in front of me which I dealt with promptly, heart attack while in hospital, my dad and family members reckon I saved his life not just once, after the 2nd TIA he was left with cognitive impairment and I had to change the way I cared for him as I would never see him upset. I wash him on occasions and cleaned him after he wet or soiled himself. I shaved his hair and I shaved him when he was unwell otherwise he was as independent as he could be and I'd helped him be that. I took him shopping and days out to see his family(siblings) I am very committed and compassionate I will look after others and listen as much as they want to speak I will be respectful and responsible for there needs I feel confident going forward and doing this. I lost my dad to covid in 2020 aged 85. I have just recently looked after a lady aged 86 with late stage dementia she had sundowning and family members wanted me there a few nights a week again to look after her and to reassure her also they needed respite, she is now in full-time care family members are willing to give references.

G15 7EP 108803 I have a great passion for helping others live comfortably in their own homes. I assist clients with daily living tasks they can no longer perform personally due to illness, frailty or being affected with a physical disability, and mobility issues. I have supported clients who were affected with Dementia, Parkinson disease and some needed companionship as they are lonely in their homes. I have also supported clients who were depressed and were very anxious about life. As no two people are the same, I work using the Person - Centred Approach. I treat clients with dignity and respect. This means I respect their rights, wishes, and choices as long as they do not put them into harm or danger. I work adhering to Legislation and Policies and Procedures. I am a team player and have a listening ear, too. I bring smiles to my clients by appreciating them and treating them with respect and having time doing things the client wants and having cups of tea with cake or biscuits too. This helps to create a very good rapport. I love cooking and baking and sometimes try new things that clients want if I do know them, especially food as I am from Africa originally. I love making someone smile daily by supporting them in A Person -Centred Way as it is to their choice, not mine . I promote clients' independence, that is, letting them do what they can. I was a Primary School Teacher in Zimbabwe for over 22 years. I taught children from primary one up to seven. When I came to the UK, I decided to help older adults and went to university to train as a social worker. I chose to work with older adults as I had a lot of interest to be with my grandparents when I was young. I had a very good relationship with them. I have very good listening skills and respect others to talk before me. I hold a diploma in social work, and I supported the elderly when I was on placement and I enjoyed that so much, and this made me want to work as a Live-in-Carer.
