I believe having worked 15 years as a carer has equipped me to be ready to take on any challenges, I have gained a lot of skills through my experiences and trainings. I have gained my experiences through working in hospitals, residential care homes, doing support work, I have also worked in the community and I have about 5 years of working as a live in carer too. I enjoy working as a carer,l. I enjoy Music, I love singing and doing Karaoke, I am happiest the most when I'm surrounded by music. I do enjoy games and learning history. I always look forward to learning a new skill, in learning new activities. most people describe me as bubbly, I am adaptable, I also enjoy my own space but I'm always there to have a good laugh. I believe in building trust with all my clients, I strive on providing a honest and trustworthy service. I believe in treating all my clients with equal rights, I strive on promoting and encouraging independence. As a carer I believe care is simply a way to assist the client in areas they feel they could use a little assistance. I am always happy to assist when needed. I have worked with clients/patients who had stroke, MS, cerebral palsy, dementia, mental health, COPD, Parkinson learning disabilities, palliative care etc... working in hospital has exposed me to different types of patients. I do drive and hold a full License with my own car.

I have worked in Care for 12 years. My first four years in Care, I worked in Reminiscence and was promoted to Senior Carer in my fourth year. I then decided to work for Agencies in order to learn about Care in different Care Homes. I have worked with Catheters, Stoma bags, handling cases of violent clients, dementia and I am also in Activities. I have just completed my 1st year as an undergraduate student for a 3 year degree program in Mental Health Nursing. I am very sociable and easily find myself fitting in with residents in Care Homes as an Agency worker. I do not smoke or take alcohol.
