I attend mandatory training every year in other to update my skills needed to carry out my assignments in effective manner. I like to keep healthy, cooking, reading, current affairs, learning new things, going for walks etc. I am looking for live in work but I also available for local care work on my time off from live in jobs. When doing live in jobs I prefer to have my 2 hours break each day but if this is not possible it can be accumulated. I am happy to travel throughout the UK as long as travelling expenses are covered 1 way by my clients. I am not available for live in over the Christmas fortnight.
I have been in the care profession for over 10 years. I have Level 2 Health and social care and Level 3 Access to nursing and social care pending. I have specialised skills in all types of DEMENTIA care and management. I also have specialised training in the prevention and management of violence and aggression(PMVA). Experience working with various types of mental health patients, eg, eating disorders, Emotionally Unstable Personality disorder (EUPD), Psycosis, Depression and Intellectual disability. Previous carer background before working for Curam. I have worked in a number of industries ranging from food manufacturing to production. I worked as a coordinator for the airline industry before I decided to join the care industry as a result of my passion and caring nature. What makes me a great carer I am caring, compassionate, and committed to my work. I see myself as an effective communicator with methodical thinking and very empathic. I am patient and pay good attention to detail. What I enjoy about this role job I enjoy the fact that it gives me a platform to help others and contribute to their wellness, I also enjoy working with my colleagues. What do I enjoy doing in your spare time? Going out and spending quality time with family and friends. What do I find rewarding about my role. Seeing people improve feeling safe whilst providing the best possible care. Meeting different people from different ethnic backgrounds. Short - and long-term contracts are available. Available for WAKING NIGHTS I am looking for fellow approved Mircoteams carers. Rates can be negotiable subject to clients' needs and location.
In 2021, at the peak of the COVID19 pandemic, I decided to undertake a health care assistant course. Coming from a finance academic background, this was a major shift from any other course I had done in my life. However, it was necessitated by the need to volunteer at a nursing home which had recently opened in my community. I come from a culture where we highly value the elders in our community, and the chance to interact with them, attend to their daily needs and ensure they are able to carry on with life as comfortably as possible was my driving force. This is only something I was during on my free time; little did I know that it would become a full-time job. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work as a health care assistant in various capacities. I have worked in nursing homes, home-based care, worked as a support worker for persons with learning disabilities and also worked as a mental health support worker in a mental & addictions hospital. I love to treat anyone who is under my care with utmost respect and dignity, no different than what I would like any of my close family to be treated by a carer. I customize my care approach based on the client`s specific needs, because I understand that we are all different. In instances where the client already has a care plan, I strictly adhere to the care plan. Finally, I always listen to those placed under my care; it does not matter if they have severe dementia, or mental illness. We all want to be listened to, and one deserves to be patronized. I`m highly experienced in manual handling. Having worked in various nursing homes, I have come across a wide variety of hoists, specially customized to each service user based on their needs. Moreover, my years working in both home care and nursing homes has provided me with loads of experience when it comes to helping service users with their nutrition and dietary needs. On the other hand, working as a HCA in mental health and addictions treatment program, has been life changing for me. It has taught me to be patient and empathetic, and the realization that sometimes all people need is someone who will give a listening ear without passing judgment. I`m always eager to learn new skills, and working at a new station or with a new client is always an opportunity to learn something new. Furthermore, I`m always keen to learn new things in my role as a health care assistant so that I can continue providing the best service to my clients. I`m flexible to work with both male and female clients.
