I have been a carer all my working life. I have worked in hospitals in Romania as qualified nurse for 20 years. In 2014 I started working in UK, 2 years in a Care Home, 6 years as a live-in carer. Specialised Dementia, Cancer ,.Stroke,Parkinsons I enjoy helping people to feel safe and happy. My personal opinion is working as a live-in carer is an opportunity to deliver person-centred care. I think allowing people to live in their own homes and making a real difference to their lives is the best job for me to do.
I have done live in care for about 5 years on and off and 5 years domiciliary and dealing with vulnerable adults with challenging behaviour. I have done few trainings over the years but all certificates are kept by the company since they paid for it. I come from a background of looking after family members with old age needs. I have looked after vulnerable adults in their own homes where some have PEG feed and others whose needs require help with all day to day needs. I am good and responsible to work alone and deliver person centred care at high standard. However where working in a team is required, I understand what team work is and can work with others without issue.
I am a dedicated and compassionate mental health carer with extensive experience supporting individuals with autism, epilepsy, psychosis, and personal care needs. My passion lies in empowering clients to live as independently as possible, promoting their dignity, confidence, and overall well-being. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with individuals facing complex mental health and neurological conditions, tailoring my approach to meet their unique needs. I have supported clients in developing daily living skills, managing medication, and engaging in community activities, always prioritizing their safety and personal goals. My experience with epilepsy management includes recognizing triggers, administering emergency care when needed, and ensuring a secure environment. For individuals with autism and psychosis, I focus on structured routines, effective communication strategies, and emotional support to help them navigate daily challenges. A key part of my role is fostering independence by encouraging clients to take an active role in their lives. Whether it’s assisting with budgeting, meal preparation, personal hygiene, or accessing local services, I strive to build their confidence in making decisions and maintaining autonomy. My patient and person-centred approach allows me to establish trusting relationships, ensuring each individual feels heard and valued. I am committed to continuous learning and professional development, staying informed about best practices in mental health care. My goal is to provide compassionate, respectful, and empowering support that enables individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.
I have always believed that providing care is more than a profession—it is a calling. With a deep commitment to supporting individuals in need, I strive to offer compassionate, person-centered care that enhances quality of life and preserves dignity. My ability to build trusting relationships, listen attentively, and respond sensitively to the unique needs of each individual has been at the heart of my journey as a care professional. Throughout my experience, I have developed strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability—qualities essential to delivering high-quality care. I take pride in working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to create safe and nurturing environments that promote well-being. Whether assisting with daily tasks or providing emotional support, my goal is always to empower those I care for, fostering independence and confidence wherever possible. I am eager to continue growing in this field, refining my skills and expanding my knowledge to ensure the best possible care for those who rely on it.
