I enjoy cooking, driving, taking clients out on excursions, and supporting a person's ability to make their own choices, and independence. I also thoroughly enjoy languages, and am more than ready to try and pick up another language, in order to communicate with my client, if necessary. I’ve worked in care now for over 2 years and only wish I’d done so earlier in life. It gives me great satisfaction to be a able to be part of enhancing someone’s life by assisting with the things in life that many of us take for granted. I have had great pleasure from working with both children and adults in a care setting. My experience includes autism, epilepsy, incontinence, and learning disabilities and have extensive personal experience in the care of my uncle who has learning disabilities and autism. My youngest daughter has also recently been diagnosed with autism. I am friendly, empathetic and a very hard worker and believe that we all deserve an equal amount of friendship, care, and standard of living at any stage of our lives.
