I have 10 years 4 months experience as a Carer, I provide live in as well as hourly care, preferably female. I am a caring, compassionate and patient individual who enjoys working with the vulnerable adults providing companionship, home cooked nutritional meals, daily care and light household duties. I am a driver and enjoy taking my client for drives, outings and to their daily appointments. I am an animal lover happy to help my clients take care of their pets. If my client goes away on holiday I offer the service of popping in to feed and look after their pets in their own home. Dogs and cats are my preference as I have grown up with them in my own home. I enjoy watching Tv, doing crosswords, playing scrabble (board games) and jigsaw puzzles with my clients which helps to stimulate and keep them mentally active. I also enjoy reading and listening to music.
Hello, I am a caring and compassionate individual with excellent interpersonal skills, enabling me to connect with others easily. I have over 9 years of experience in the care sector, working across various fields, including home care with daily visits, residential and nursing care in care homes, childcare as a nanny alongside families, and live-in or 24-hour care in clients' homes. Before transitioning to care, I worked as a nursery nurse for 19 years. This experience helped me develop strong organizational and caregiving skills. I later shifted my career focus to caring for adults and have since completed my NVQ studies in Adult Care, achieving a Level 3 Diploma. As an organized, kind, responsible, and cheerful person, I prioritize respecting individuals' independence, needs, and preferences while fostering strong and healthy relationships. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, walking with my dogs, visiting beaches, and swimming to maintain a healthy mind and body. Additionally, I enjoy playing board games and working on cross-stitch projects. I am a confident driver and capable of preparing a variety of meals, including traditional, vegan, and vegetarian options. I am available for long-term and short term live-in care roles and work across the UK. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to the opportunity to work together in the future. Gabi
I believe that health and wellbeing play a role in people 's lives therefore I have always admired people that work in health industry. Growing up as a child I used see my mother taking care of my grandmother as she was getting old and she couldn't support herself. I really appreciated my mother so much because this is where I learned to care for other people in need. I grew up in Zimbabwe, In 2007 I moved to South Africa where I got a job as a carer working privately looking after a lady in her 50s, she had kidney failure. I used to take her to Dialysis 3 times a week and other hospital appointments. I used to do all household chores as well as personal care, I worked for the family for 5years until she passed away that was the reason for leaving. In 2016 I moved to the UK to settle with my family and take time out to decide on my career plan, I realised that my passion lies in helping others. I got a job in 2016 August doing home care, looking after elderly clients in their own homes. Duties included : shopping, personal care, hospital appointments, administering medication, feeding, hoisting, cooking and many more duties. Because my passion is to help people with different age groups and different needs, I decided to look for a job elsewhere but still in the caring industry. I wanted to gain more experience and expand my knowledge in the caring industry. I worked for an agency, where I worked in different nursing homes, I must say I loved it as I gained my confidence and wider knowledge. The job was challenging but I really enjoyed it as it made me stronger and a better carer. 2017 I got a job where I’m currently working and it’s still in care, I do work as a support worker. I look after people with learning disabilities with different age groups, I really enjoy it, duties include : personal care, shopping and day to day activities, administering medication and cooking. I love cooking and in my culture we get taught how to cook when we are young so cooking is not an issue my husband is English so I can cook English food and African meals. I have also started preparing to go to university next year to study nursing. It was always my dream to be a qualified nurse so that I can expand my knowledge in health care industry, and I am also willing to learn new things During my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends, eating out and going to the cinema. Going out with my friends allows me an opportunity to make new friends and meet new people. As a sociable person I would relish the chance to utilise these skills in a professional context. I have experience of working with clients that have had catheters and stoma's fitted, this has been learned on the job no formal qualifications have been achieved.
I am a newly qualified social worker, with my graduation scheduled for November 2023. My journey in the healthcare field spans over 20 years, during which time I have cultivated a diverse background in care settings. My experiences include working in assisted living, end-of-life care (palliative care), and supporting adults and children with complex needs across various clinical environments. Driven by my passion for healthcare, I pursued a degree in social work, where I completed two placements and achieved an Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1). During my first placement, I undertook a 70-day role as a Floating Support Worker, assisting adults aged 18 and above. My responsibilities involved providing short-term housing-related support services to residents facing the threat of eviction or homelessness due to complex social and economic challenges. I also assisted individuals with lived experience (PwLE) in managing their debts, including applying for grants to supplement their income. This role required maintaining professional boundaries while building trust with clients. Collaborating with multi-agency teams and local charities across Cheshire and Merseyside, I worked to promote resettlement and tenancy sustainability for residents. I helped manage debt and rent arrears in partnership with organizations such as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Citizens Advice Bureau. My second placement was 100 days with the Local Authority’s Over 65 Team. Here, I maintained a small caseload, closely monitored by my line manager. I conducted assessments, commissioned care packages, and supported adult safeguarding in line with local policies. My caseload included individuals with diverse conditions, including dementia, learning disabilities, and mental health diagnoses. I learned to tailor support to individual needs using a strength-based approach and understanding the Adult Care Act’s framework. This placement allowed me to enhance my professional judgment through evidence-based practice, manage hospital discharge assessments, and partner with multidisciplinary teams. Through shadowing and hands-on experience, I gained insights into social workers' vital role in assessing mental capacity and advocating for PwLE. I understood the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, which always assumes a person's capacity unless otherwise proven. Observing professional practices in hospital discharge assessments highlighted the importance of integrated care and collaboration among health professionals, reinforcing my commitment to holistic and person-centred care. My placements have developed my professional leadership skills and deepened my understanding of healthcare services' multifaceted challenges. By fostering positive change and respecting the views and needs of vulnerable individuals, I have enhanced my communication capabilities, engaging a diverse range of clients through clear and structured interactions. The supportive environment of my placement team further solidified my passion for social work, culminating in an offer to join as a social worker. I am excited to continue positively impacting the lives of those I serve and to contribute to the broader community.
