Arthur's story
When Arthur T left Charing Cross Hospital, he was recovering well from his operation but still not quite himself. The nurses had been cheerful and, after the bustle of the hospital, home felt very quiet. Arthur T’s son, Oscar, was trying to find help from his home in Cornwall, but was also busy moving house.
Oscar wanted to keep his siblings, who live abroad, in the loop. They needed someone warm and trustworthy, who’d make proper meals and help with medication and exercise — without paying the sky-high fees most agencies quoted. “It’s stressful, trying to find the right person” Oscar said. “You want good care, but it has to be affordable and my sisters and I also wanted to have some input.”
