I have a big heart for the elderly, and enjoy caring for those that are unable to carry out daily tasks independently. I've honed my skills through working with a range of clients and also by caring for a grandparent with diabetes. Over the years I’ve also cared for people with dementia, learning difficulties, high blood pressure and cancer. I’m very hard working and always seeking to deliver excellent results in whatever I do. I have exceptional communication, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage my time well and work efficiently. I am willing to work around the clock (day and night, holidays and weekends) in order to meet my clients needs. My family and friends would describe me as funny, friendly, enthusiastic, dutiful, helpful and very observant. As an individual I feel fulfilled when I'm able to promote a better life for clients and put a smile on their faces through my tailored care services. I enjoy forming strong bonds with them whilst serving as both a professional carer as well as being a friend. I believe in exercising compassion and patience when dealing with my clients as this encourages trust and builds natural relationships. I also like the fact that my approach with those I care for promotes their independence and dignity at all times which acts as a driving force for me to continue rendering the best care services I possibly can. Unfortunately, I’m unable to work with clients with pets as I have allergies and would also prefer non-smokers. In my spare time I enjoy reading, travelling, cooking and spending quality time with loved ones. I have experience in using the sliding sheets as that's the current need of my client but I am flexible and always willing to learn things to aid my clients wellbeing . I am more of a live in carer but I also don't mind working on a long hours during the day as I get to understand my clients and routine and create a bond as I always desire working long term with my clients. I enjoy cooking my African dishes but willing to learn how to cook what the clients like. My current and past clients, I do oven/microwave food and I do stir fry for them also. I am Carer that follows Care Plans and could also create a routine that suits the client overtime as I get to spend more time with them. I do have my minimum of 2hrs break everyday(Flexible) in terms of timing each day. I also don’t drive at the moment . {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":false,"field_care_type_first":"","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":false,"field_care_type_third":"","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":false,"field_care_type_fifth":"","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

EN5 2UD 20344 My name is Lourdes but my friends call me Lou. I am friendly, patient, and hard working. I have more than 10 years' experience working with children with a variety of special need. In 2020 I decided to take a course in “understanding children and young People’s Mental Health” to be able to help them specially during the pandemic. However, it is my understanding and experience that children, young people, adult, and older people are all in need of a friendly, kind, and patient approach and I know that I am that person. I had a disable older brother who needed 24 hour care and I helped look after him until the day he passed away. I also gain a lot of experience looking after a lovely aunt while she was fighting cancer. I enjoy listening to people, but I specially enjoy listening to older people as they have so much life’s experience to share. I am a very patient person and I am always happy to work at my client's pace, I want to do what is best for them. I worked with children with autism, physical disabilities and with attachment problems. I am experienced in personal grooming, and I enjoy helping clients look their best. I can assist with eating, cooking, cleaning, and any administrative tasks which need support. I have a full clean driving license and enjoy taking clients out to meet friends. I have been working as a primary teaching assistant for 10 years, I enjoyed the experience of working with children.” I was told that I am a good cook and I believe I am. I love to cook; I have been selling my meals for friends and colleagues. My specialty is Portuguese, Spanish, Brazilian and African food, but I am also willing to try out new recipes. Please get in touch if you think I could help you. 1 2 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

I have also worked as a home care worker supporting elderly with varied needs, for example, physical, mental and dementia. I have carried out tasks required of me with empathy and understanding. I carry out the duties with a smile and a friendly attitude. I am trained to administer medication in any form. I am also trained to administer epilepsy rescue medication. I am able to communicate with social workers, medical professionals when the need arises. I have worked for many years as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and other conditions. I have been successful at ensuring the adults I support access activities outside their home and also access friendships. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused difficulties for adults with learning disabilities and the elderly to an extent they have become isolated much more than free leaving adults. I have worked with this group of adults to support them as much as possible while at the same time keeping them safe. I am trained to support all adults with physical needs to transfer from all possible situations and also to access personal care. I am a driver and at times use my car for business purposes to support the clients I look after to carry out shopping, drive them to activities and also to access banks, GP surgeries, etc. I am able to write reports as requires showing the activities and the needs of the adults I support as required, keeping good records. {"field_care_type_first":"0","field_care_type_second":"0","field_care_type_third":"0","field_care_type_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":"0","field_care_type_sixth":"0","field_care_type_seven":"0"}
