I have had other jobs before but with Care work, I feel I don’t have to try too hard. I do it naturally. Compassion and how I would like others to care for me when I can’t perform certain tasks underpins how I care for others. I have experience spanning over 10 years with breaks in between. I specialise in old-age related illnesses: dementia, cancer, stroke and lately, have ventured into palliative and End of life care. I have recently refreshed my Care certificate and am up to speed with current issues in the Care sector. I believe in being part of the solution in solving the care crisis: staff and training shortages. During Covid-19 lockdown, I played a part in training fellow carers in Prevention and Infection control. I am also up-to-date with compliancy and policy requirements. My experience has enabled me to carry out risk assessments, communicate and coordinate clients’ needs with the right professionals: district nurses, Occupational Therapists, pharmacies etc. I am generally a happy person who enjoys spreading this happiness to others who may be feeling low.
