"Before working in care and while raising a family, I worked mainly in office based jobs. In my own time I supported an elderly neighbour with light housework, gardening, walking her little companion dog, accessing the community, or just called in for a cup of tea and a chat. I also supported a friend who was a wheelchair user and accompanied him to fundraising and social events. Since my children have now all flown the nest, I have pursued my passion to work in care. I have worked previously as a rehabilitation support worker for people who have ABI (acquired brain injury}, and was working on an employed basis for the elderly in a care home setting for over two and a half years before going back to one-to-one support for individuals with ABI. I love to get to know the individuals I support and care for as this allows me to provide 'person centered' care in the true sense, and gain a deeper understanding of an individuals care needs. When I hear from residents or clients that I care for that "It is nice to receive care from someone who really cares', it just melts my heart and fills me with pride and fulfillment in what I do. I love animals and understand and appreciate how important companion animals can be, I know how important my dog is to my own happiness and wellbeing. I have a genuine interest in people, their welfare and dignity, and with a wide variety of interests I am usually able to find something to connect on some level with people from all walks of life. If you are looking for some support for yourself or a loved one, please get in touch, I would love to hear from you."

🏅 Top-Rated Local Carer

"I am a caring, conscientious and reliable wife, mother and grandmother with excellent communication skills, I am a good listener and enjoy working closely with others, getting to know their likes and interests. I started working in the care industry doing domiciliary care in 2003 and then went back into office work again for a number of years. Between 2019 - 2021 I provided personal care and support within a care home including catheter & stoma care for residents that was suited to their individual needs and preferences, along with assisting with meals and refreshments throughout the day and logging all aspects of the care and support given. I then had the opportunity to work closely with two young adults within their own homes. Supporting a young lady with ASD and the other with Cerebral palsy, providing care and support for a few months with each of them and taking them out for activity days, which has been very rewarding. I spent a wonderful two years caring for a very elderly gentleman, as his companion, as well as all aspects of personal care, cleaning, washing, shopping, cooking, medication, appointments, and household utility paperwork and banking for him. I then spent a year caring for a family member. Most recently I have been supporting a lady with LBD and another with accident rehabilitation. I enjoy music, reading, caravanning and spending quality time with my family and friends. Please feel free to get in touch with me if you think I can be of help to you."
