I then assisted a family member who suffered from mental health issues and, more recently, supported my parents with the onset of dementia. This experience led me into professional care work, where I have served both as a care at home assistant and as a support practitioner, helping vulnerable adults in the community with personal care, medication, moving and handling, housekeeping, cooking, shopping, companionship, and social activities.
I also have experience in working with clients with dementia, both in early and advanced stages, as well as those with multiple sclerosis. I assist with PEG feeding and catheter needs and have some experience with stoma care.
I have an energetic spirit and enjoy helping others gain as much independence as possible through respect, dignity, and compassion.
I have completed workplace training and am currently working towards an HNC in Social Care. I am also fully registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.
I have completed an HNC in Administration and IT and possess an SVQ2 in Professional Cookery.
