I have a full UK licence and am used to driving around London and surrounding areas. I have been a PA for the past 12 years. My responsibilities were assisting in personal hygiene and dressing, cleaning, feeding and bathing. I was also responsible for trips to see doctors, making sure prescribed medication is taken on time, shopping and doing the housework, cooking and anything else that needed to be done around the house. I have also accompanied the people I was caring for on holidays and therefore it would not be an issue for me as I am familiar with any unexpected needs or issues that may arise in such situations when being away from the comfort of your own home. I believe in an open and honest communication between the person I am helping and myself. I feel that being able to have an occasional laugh helps to build a comfortable atmosphere. I am a very calm and patient person and that’s partly due to my experience in busy hotels and as a supervisor prior to becoming a PA. I hardly ever crack under-pressure and am able to both work independently and as part of the team – I believe that I am very easy to get on with. I have experience with PEG feeding, changing catheter, full hoist, walking and standing hoist, electronic stimulation. I have experience working with people with MND, MS, learning disability , challenging behaviour, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, epilepsy etch.
