After a few office jobs, my eldest sister persuaded me to enter the caring sector, and I haven't looked back since. I only wish I had started in care earlier. I have been working in care for more than 27 years and have looked after a wide range of clients with various illnesses and disabilities, aged from 7 to 104, in their homes, hospitals, and care homes. I don't mind travelling distances.
I am happy to provide companionship and assist with appointments and shopping (including personal shopping for clothes, etc.), as well as offer overnight stays and short live-in care. I have experience with Apo-Go insulin pumps and CPAP masks. I enjoy looking after people and ensuring they are safe, clean, and happy.
I am a car driver and have business insurance, so there is no need for concern. I am also happy to take clients out shopping, whether for food or clothes. I love the idea of them meeting friends for a chat and catching up over coffee and cake. Visits to hairdressers are important—we all need our hair cut or trimmed from time to time. I also enjoy taking clients for a nice drive, where we can stop for tea or coffee, watch the world go by, or walk as far as they are able. I love sharing and listening to stories and am very flexible. Nothing is too much trouble; if I can help, I will. I am not easily discouraged.
I gain a lot of job satisfaction from knowing my clients are safe, well, content, and happy. I like to engage them in gentle games, cards, and board games if they enjoy those, as well as playing soft music and watching old films that bring back pleasant memories.
I am an avid pet lover—the more, the merrier, and I have also done dog walking. I endeavour to respond to all messages by 8 pm on the same day. Just to let you know, I have received seven Covid vaccinations. I am available for emergency call-out within five hours if needed, depending on the distance. I hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, which I obtained from Croydon Social Services.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
My pricing reflects the quality level of care and my long-term experience, as well as car journeys.
