After losing my parent I wanted to come back into healthcare because I felt this is the only way for me to give back. It took me a few years to finally put my decision in to action. I enrolled to university to study Health and Social Care Management in 2019. I'm presently on my final year of studies. I started to work as a healthcare assistant in September 2021. I would have made this decision sooner but due to the pandemic I had to wait a little longer. I have been working for the past 9 months in the healthcare field and I have no regrets. Since I started I have worked as a living carer as well as with clients requiring complex care. I really enjoy my job as I take pride in my willingness to delivering excellent service for the patients. I am an empathetic, companionate, patient, helpful, kind, reliable, good listener and I work well under the pressure. I am passionate about my job. Upon completion of my final university year (2022) I would like to progress into nursing. I enjoy going for long evening walks, listening to music, travelling, meeting new people, cooking as well as going out with friends. I look forward to working with different clients so I could gain as much experience as possible in order to purse a career in healthcare and to help and give back to people that need care.
