Before that, I worked for 30 years in the travel industry, 17 of which were at British Airways. I also worked as a literary translator and an English language teacher (CELTA). I hold a UK passport and driving license and have driven mobility vehicles and even an 18-seater school bus (with kids). However, I don't currently own a car. My enhanced DBS is on the update service. I have carer's insurance. I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. I attended the University of the Witwatersrand and studied International Relations and Public Administration. My parents were Greek. My wife is English. We divide our time between Greece and the UK for work and to visit our two daughters in Hove. Before turning freelance, I was employed and trained by several care companies to obtain certifications I keep up to date online. I provide companionship and have handled complex medical cases and dementia. I am calm with a commonsensical can-do attitude and reliable, aware that I am entrusted with the welfare of vulnerable people. Regarding food, I like to prepare nutritious and tasty straightforward meals. I don't smoke, but I don't mind those who do. I am comfortable with pets and all animals. My interests lie in the arts and humanities, especially music. I am not an avid TV viewer, though I enjoy watching the occasional sports match or documentary. I prefer working a minimum of 3 weeks. Because every care situation is unique, please get in touch to discuss. Should we build rapport, I will happily travel nationwide to meet expectations.
