I've been working with People, for People, in different ways, all my life: 10 years spent teaching in higher education and the past 13 years were continuously dedicated to caring for people with complex needs. Ever since 2011, I have been successfully assisting people suffering from a wide range of conditions (dementia, heart failure, spinal injury, stroke, post-operative care, age-related issues). I have always taken a bespoke, comprehensive approach in providing the desired physical and psychological comfort, assisting from personal care and everyday life aspects (meal preparation, housekeeping) to complex healthcare and medical liaisons/administration/support, shopping, administrative, social and travel support, companionship. Also, I have also been leading, training and team-working with lots of carers when needed for my clients. For some clients I had been working alongside nurses and carers in hospital and hospice environment in order to provide them with the best possible care and comfort, in palliative care. I’ve chosen to work in Care for the Human and Humane experience of it, as it enriches my soul as much as it saves or brightens the life of the person in need. I am an experienced, compassionate and empathetic carer, with a mature, responsible approach and a can-do, positive attitude fed by lots of inner-strength. Working in care requires empathy, communication skills, patience, resilience and kindness, and these come naturally to me. The principles that always guide my work are: Honesty, trust, respect and care for the person I work for. Also, good communication and listening to the person's needs, likes, dislikes, and requirements, with keen attention to godly details that at times, can make all the difference. Whilst using my analytical thinking, experience and initiative, all has been done in a Person-Centred Care and life management approach, with the utmost respect for privacy, preferences and independence. Above and beyond, I think it is all summarized under the umbrella of Human and Humane Common Sense, and this has always been my main and ultimate Credo, in my personal and professional life. In case you feel we could collaborate, please contact me. Looking forward to hearing from you, Mihaela Thank you for your time.
