I have worked with people with chronic conditions, dementia, mobility difficulties and the use of different mobility aids, dysphagia and people who were not ill but just needed support as they were advancing in age, etc. I enjoy working with other health professionals like Tissue viability nurses, doctors and physiotherapists to make sure that the changing needs of the clients are met professionally and effectively. I am very patient, a good listener and a hard worker. I am very particular with hand hygiene especially before and during food handling and after visiting the toilet. I can assist with personal care, toileting, cooking, feeding, cleaning and any administrative tasks which may need support. Before I became a carer, I worked as a professional nurse in hospital and nursing home settings. That’s where I gained experience and confidence in working with older people with diverse medical conditions and health issues. I decided to care for people in their private homes as a live in carer because I felt it was more rewarding. I like gardening (growing vegetables), walking, light exercising, painting and drawing, watching sports, history and places, cooking programs and music on TV. I am a practicing Christian and enjoy gospel classical and any good music and to watch sermons on TV. I’d be happy to accompany my clients to Church if they are happy for me to do so. Please get in touch if you think I could help you. Thank you.
