I am a dedicated and seasoned care worker in the beginning of my nursing career. My current rates are subject to change once I get my NMC pin registration. l am flexible and can negotiate my rate depending on what level of care is required for each individual client this can be discussed during our Curam meet. I am happy to perform household duties, offer companionship, cooking, shopping and physio care. l have over 15 years’ experience of working at adult inpatient and outpatient units ,care homes and supported living. I began my career working as a healthcare assistant for the elderly. I cared for adults affected by organic illnesses, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. In an effort to further my career I later trained as a nurse and l have finally qualified in 2024. I am in the process of waiting for my NMC pin registration. I have had the opportunity to work in various aspects of care attaining extensive experience. During my nursing placements l have gained experience in these including working in day surgery, endoscopy, theatre, Oncology, orthopaedic. I have also had the experience of working in the Acute Assessment Unit during my time as a student nurse and I proved that I am dynamic and versatile enough to work in fast paced environments. l can work longer hours, night shifts available 7 days and during the week day shifts within school hours. Some of my best experience comes from working in Critical Care over the last 4 years where I have proved that I can work well and retain composure during a patient’s critical illness. I have gained extensive experience of nursing patients with acute and chronic medical and surgical conditions. I carry out assessments, plan, implement, evaluate interventions and maintain associated records while working within the ethical and legal framework of the NHS. I value integrated working as well as multi- disciplinary team working to deliver quality patient centred care. I possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I am organised, hardworking and have strong leadership qualities. I can manage a ward and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to ensure the delivery of quality care. I work in line with the Care Quality Commission’s key lines of enquiry to ensure that the service we provide is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led. Following my 4 years’ experience as a nursing student, I am confident enough to take the lead role of assessing patients, liaising with medics and implementing coordinated treatment and follow up plans. I demonstrate leadership skills and effective multi-disciplinary team working. I can work well and remain calm under pressure or during a crisis due to my resilient and composed personality. I empathise with all patients, recognise and respect differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs. In addition to this, I possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I understand how to effectively care for patients in a person centred way. One of my personal strengths is being able to communicate well and build a rapport with people from various backgrounds. I always work within my Codes of Professional Conduct following Trust Policies and procedures while motivating other staff to do the same. I am proficient and always follow all protocols to escalate a situation to other professionals where necessary. Through clinical practice I have learnt how to maintain patient safety, robust risk assessments, promote health and well-being of patients in line with my NMC Codes of Practice and the SSSC for Scotland. I also have a good working knowledge of legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Children Act 1989, Mental Capacity Act 2005, amended in 2007. I have proven commitment to continuous professional development, and have demonstrated my readiness and success at taking on opportunities that offer the chance to improve and broaden my knowledge and skills base. I have become a dependable, responsible professional with a passion and commitment to excellence and success; whilst being a conscientious go-getter who is highly organised, dedicated, and committed to professionalism. I would therefore be ready to undertake any such personal and professional development opportunities as identified. I can confidently say l can work in any environment and know my strengths and limitations and know when to seek out for help if needed.
