Maintaining dignity and respect at all times is my priority when caring for my clients. I am patient and empathetic with a good sense of humour. I am competent and confident in all aspects of personal care and household duties such as- showering, bathing, dressing and grooming, dental hygiene, toileting and continence care and following care plans whilst keeping accurate concise notes. Food preparation and house work, shopping, collecting prescriptions, supporting clients through illness including end of life care, medical appointments and liaising with families. I’m experienced in caring for clients with varying levels of mental, physical and behavioural impairments including, Down syndrome, dementia, anxiety, depression, boarder line personality disorder, diabetes, muscular dystrophy, motor neurones disease as well as those with non medical issues purely needing a companion. I am organised, reliable and ensure that all my learning needs are updated regularly. I have completed health and social care diploma levels 1 and 2 before starting my hands on carer in care. I have a passion for caring, and helping people maintain happiness and quality of life in their own homes gives me much joy.
