For some people, caring is a job. To me, it goes beyond that. It is also a calling for me. I do care work because I have a genuine desire to help those who would otherwise be incapable of doing so themselves. To enable them enjoy and participate in life as much as the next person. To genuinely care for them while maintaining their dignity, no matter the age, gender or religion. I treat clients as if they were my own relatives. This empathy is what I feel is my greatest asset. I have been caring professionally for two years, but unofficially for as long as I can recall. As an individual with many aunts, I have cared for my aunts’ kids from the day they were born. My experience here includes washing, cooking for them, cleaning them up and a host of other activities. Additionally, I have cared for other relatives: aging uncles and aunts, ill ones and generally any member of my household and extended family that has required some level of care. This formed the springboard from which I decided to go into care professionally. I have worked in all kinds of situations with different types of care needs. I am efficient at providing care for the aging, end of life, disabilities of all sorts, elderly and a host of others. I have taken care of people with various conditions from incontinence, various types of cancer care, stomata care, dementia and such like. In all these, I have been driven by one main motivation: this is a human that could be my mum, dad, brother, sister, uncle, aunt or children. I have approached caring with utmost respect for the client, always aiming to treat them in such a way that they would feel valued and visible; enabling them to live a dignified life as much as is possible. I understand that each individual’s care needs are unique and can change over time. As such, I pride myself on being adaptable and flexible, capable of adjusting my approach to suit the specific requirements and circumstances of every client. My goal is to ensure that the care I provide is not only of the highest standard, but also truly personalised, reflecting the individual preferences and needs of each person I have the privilege to assist. I am committed to making any necessary adjustments to provide the best possible support and care, without compromising on dignity or respect. At the end of the day, your comfort, well-being, and peace of mind are my highest priorities.
