I'm originally from London and now reside in South Wales. I have been a carer for 13 years. I first started providing private care when my nan fell ill, I was her main carer, I enjoyed it very much and my nan encouraged me to sign up with an agency. Since then, I have worked for numerous domiciliary agencies, nursing homes, residential homes, mental health homes, in schools and live-in companies. Throughout the years, I have experience with personal care, moving and handling, washing and dressing, changing pads, using health-care equipment, emptying catheters and attaching catheters to the night bags, prompting and administrating medications (tablets and liquids), companionship, cooking fresh meals and light cleaning. Prompting and feeding meals and prompting to drink fluids throughout the day. Also, going out with my clients, accompanying them to the doctors and hospital appointments. Doing their general shopping and run errands for my clients like picking up medications from the pharmacy. I have experience with clients who have suffered from dementia, cancer and clients with challenging behaviour. I've also provided care for clients who had parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis(MS), brain disease, bed-bound patients, end of life and palliative care. I love my role as a carer and I understand my duties. I work with people who rely on me for full or additional support. I don't see myself doing anything else. I do enjoy listening to my clients life stories - growing up, how they lived and all their amazing stories. I am confident in my role as a carer and I know each client is different. I hope with all my experience you will accept me as your carer. In my own time I enjoy walking and taking in the local scenery.
