Thro...MoreI am Mavis, a hardworking and a diligent 37 years young lady with over 10 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing in the hospital setting and over 5 years of experience as a nursing instructor, I believe that I possess the skills, knowledge, and passion necessary to excel in this role. Throughout my nursing career, I have gained over 72 months of clinical experience and 60 months of clinical tutoring. Additionally, I have 36 months of nursing management experience, which has honed my leadership skills and my ability to manage a team of healthcare professionals effectively. I am a registered nurse in Ghana and hold a certification in Leadership and Management in Health. I am also certified in BLS, demonstrating my commitment to patient safety and emergency care. I have started the NMC-UK registration process.
My passion for nursing goes beyond simply carrying out clinical duties; I am committed to providing exceptional patient care that is delivered with compassion, empathy ,respect, and dignity. I believe that every patient deserves to be treated as an individual, with their unique needs and preferences taken into account. I take pride in providing patient education and health teaching, empowering patients to take an active role in their own care. I find fulfilment in caring for patients with stroke, dementia, disabilities. I support Patient with personal care, medication, tidying up the house, playing with their pets, arranging ward robes, reading to them.
Most recently, I have been working as a Senior Carer in Healthcare in the UK, where I have been providing domiciliary care services to patients in their homes. Prior to this, I worked at Nyaho Medical Centre as a staff nurse in the emergency room and medical/surgical areas, as well as a Nurse Manager in the primary care (Out Patient Department) area.
Due to the sympathy and love I have for humanity, I together with a book club I own organized old but gold for about 30 elderly men and women in my neighbour hood. This is an initiative to take care of elderly people who are in need. During the same time frame, I worked as a part-timer at the CarePlus Ghana as a senior home carer for a period of two years. This has positioned me to be abreast with the demands of the job and has empowered me to provide quality and safe care to all service users
As a mother of two, I am well able to take care of children as I do appreciate their needs and demands.
I love reading, exercising (gyming) and I love sharing stories of hope to light the path of everyone in need of it.
