I used to work in a restau...More I have been a carer for 8 years, having the passion and desire to work as a carer. I am able to safeguard the individual from any form of abuse. I have acquired many skills and much knowledge by completing my Catering course at Vocational School as a caterer by profession. I used to work in a restaurant, I later started doing my own business by taking Weddings and parties orders, such as cooking continental dishes and pastries. I then continued to further my education to acquire NVQ3 at Derby collage and Level 4 BA (Hons) Health and Social care at University of Derby. Currently I am studying special educational needs at Derby University, I am in my first year. I enjoy doing the care work, I have been supporting individuals with various types of conditions. Such as patient with mental health issues, stroke, palliative care, autism, learning disabilities, brain injuries, accidents injures and dementia. I have worked in various care homes such as residential homes, children homes, domiciliary care, and other support services. I make sure I help the individual to promote his/her independence and I offer assistance with person centred care such as cooking , documenting on the computer of any changing of behaviour and suggesting to the manager of any reassessment , changing of pads, support them emotional by reassuring them when required ,transferring the individual with hoisting by two people ,l assisting with medication and prompting of medication, assisting with shopping, cooking, bathing, dressing, house keeping, following the health and safety policies and safeguarding policies, taking the individual to leisure points. To me caring is a calling and I really enjoy supporting the individual to live a fulfilling life.
