I live in Central Beds, love the countryside, enjoy reading, updating myself about current affairs and sports. My favourite sport is walking, swimming, golfing and working out in the gym. I also enjoy singing especially classical and any other social events. Friends and clients would describe me as a sociable and friendly person with inherent humane qualities touching lives and meeting the needs of the vulnerable and needy. Worked in the educational and care sector for 15 years, helped teach and mentor the youth in Further Education, fostered and mentored teenagers who had been incarcerated in 'Secure' (prisons) to assimilate into society as responsible individuals among others. Alongside these responsibilities, were my commitments to caring for the elderlies from varied backgrounds such as highly dependent clients to companionship. I assisted them with personal care, medication, cooking, housework, laundry, shopping, helping them to church and meeting their individual and personal needs tailored to their care plans etc. Having developed my inherent talents and skills in Health and Social Care I feel honoured and privileged caring for clients with varied needs from all walks of life. I meticulously assist my clients with exceptional care, compassion, humility and love. One of the most significant aspects of my responsibilities as a carer is to help improve clients’ quality of life, enhance their dignity and independence. Being optimistic by nature, I aim to stimulate and encourage clients with hope, love and reassurance and ensure that they do not feel alienated from society and consequently lose their self-esteem. I like to tailor my daily tasks and routine activities round clients’ interests, preferences and hobbies! By this, clients can enjoy their independence, comfort and the contentment of living in their own homes. A client recently said, “Sheila, you make life worth living again, you are ebullient with a dynamo nature in you. . . . Oh, you cheer me up!" These words of the client could not be more appreciated and valued! It is always pleasant and rewarding helping people and the needy. I am very flexible with Availability and Travel ; I am able to work for a minimum of 4 weeks in a Livein, Sleep in and Night wake and a Maximum of 12.5 weeks before taking a Respite break. I am happy to travel locally to nearby towns and areas and further afield to the outskirts and nationwide.
