During th...More I am a highly motivated social care professional who likes to give a helping hand to others but also encourage people to maximise their ability. I have worked in social care for over two decades as a learning support assistant, play worker, Carer and support worker in different settings. During this period, I have refined my skills through various training courses such as First Aid, Medication Administration, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Mental Health and Dementia courses etc. As a care worker, my focus is to set achievable goals with customers and support them to achieve those goals. I ensure that those in my care are treated with dignity and respect at all times. I feel quite fulfilled when I support customers to move to the next level of their endeavour. My current role as a PA for my elderly mum with other Carers has given me a greater understanding about how good Carer’s can help to enhance and motivate the cared for individual. I have experience in implementing individual care plans by setting realistic goals that people can work towards. I have a very flexible and dynamic approach to everything which is a quality which can have a positive impact on the customer. I have a clear understanding of the importance of effective communication and negotiation skills within the care sector, using verbal, non-verbal and visual ways to identify any problems that a customer may be having and reporting them promptly to the professionals concerned. My area of expertise is working with people with learning disability and mental health issues although I have experience working with a different range of customers and I am very flexible about who I work with. I am a fun-loving, happy go lucky person who enjoys cooking, travelling, shopping, current affairs and spending quality time with family and friends. I have a great interest in herbal and alternative medicine to promote good health and well-being.
