I have worked in many roles both out in the community and within the organisation. Roles would include, activities co-ordinator. Assisting with the rostering team. Receptionist duties and completing administrative work, ie updating care plans, risk assessments etc. I have also been apart of the Carers Emergency Scheme. My main duties as a domiciliary Support worker would include assisting clients with their personal care needs whilst maintaining their independence and dignity and ensuring their safety at all times. As a palliative worker on nights for 7 years. I would care for vulnerable adults approaching their end of life. I provide support, safety and comfort by listening to individuals and those close to them about their care needs and preferences, observing, discussing and recording any changes in conditions and offering compassion and support. My responsibilities would include pain management, mouth care, maintaining personal hygiene, offering emotional support to family and friends and ensuring the patients needs and preferences are met. As a reablement worker. Our main duties were to assist individuals that have had long stays in hospital back to independent living. We would support people by helping them re-learn skills and regain their independence. Motivating clients to achieve the goals they have set. Whilst working alongside other professionals in the community i.e. occupational therapists, physios etc to set goal plans. I have always had a passion for caring for others and being apart of a community. I have decided to try this platform so I am able to travel and still carry out the work I enjoy and love, whilst creating connections with people from all walks of life.
