I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector for 20 years. This included support in the community through an agency, private and Local Authority. I have also worked for 10 years in Social Care Reablement within the Local Authority - NHS linked, this involved monitoring and assessing those discharged from hospital after accident, illness and operations as to their current and future needs for day to day living. Duties included: Assist and promote independent social and living skills including the provision of a range of personal care tasks, for example: involving assistance with transfers to/from bed/chair/toilet, washing (including bed baths, bathing and showering),dressing/undressing; changing catheter bags; prompting, monitoring and administration of medication where required. Having worked in a rehabilitation service, I am quick to gauge a person's capabilities and limitations adopting Person Centred support at all times. Also, proficient at undertaking administrative tasks as required, this included :- Complying with CQC Standards/Care Plans/Medication administration and recording . Maintain service user records in individual service users’ homes, including the completion of goal plan documentation . I am experienced in compiling reports, paying attention to detail and liaising with Professional relevant persons in confidence, when required. I am experienced with many aspects related to those terminally ill/ palliative care, disabled and the elderly. I am astute and compassionate by nature whilst having a good sense of humour. I am quick to gauge limitations and requirements, then respond calmly . I am able to listen carefully and assess situations with confidence, for the best actions. I am able to discuss issues with those involved in a sympathetic and diplomatic manner in order to reach a satisfactory conclusion to suit those concerned. Previous work experience has involved working with individuals of a varying age range from children to those more senior. Service users being my priority I believe that patience is a virtue and the positive results which I experienced were both satisfying and rewarding. I am adept at working on my own initiative whilst also being a valuable team member. I am able to discuss situations, accepting suggestions for the best outcome. A conscientious person, I undertake all tasks efficiently to the very best of my ability. I am considered to be reliable, competent with a strong sense of dedication whatever the situation I find myself in. My sense of humour has on occasion defused a situation for the better. I am an animal lover, being a horse lover /rider since a young age also owned dogs which to me, are a family member. I enjoy world travel/history/films/current affairs/walking/keeping fit.
