Here, I have 10 years work experience as carer working with dementia, stroke , depression and a blind client . I have a degree in Professional Nursing Studies and expertise in working with persons suffering dementia, stroke, mental health issues. I also have experience of feeding by NG/Royal tube,Catheter care and physiotherapy, acupressure and Reiki (USUI system of natural healing). I can speak English, Punjabi ,Hindi and Urdu. I prefer to work between 7am to 2pm or between 10pm and 8am but can discuss this with any potential client. I do not presently hold a full driving licence but am willing to travel for around an hour on public transport from post area UB4. I am happy to assist with all aspects of personal care and can also help around the house. I am a very committed worker and love to be challenged. I can check vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure and blood sugar level. I enjoy being a carer/personal assistant because I get immense satisfaction from taking care of people, especially those who are vulnerable. Some of the skills and qualities required to become a competent Care Assistant include an ability to identify ongoing issues or changes to conditions and at times helping clients to make difficult and challenging decisions . Those skills are the ones I believe I possess and I feel I can contribute positively within this role.
