ML11 7DP 236606 I am a hardworking, compassionate, and very caring individual with 1 years official experience of caring for a client with vascular dementia and reduced mobility. I helped care for my late mother for 12 years, who suffered from vascular dementia, was doubly incontinent, and also peg fed. A year or so after my mum passed away, I went on to help care for my dad, who is severely disabled with multiple other health conditions, including arthristis, type 1 diabetes and heart problems, my dad has very poor mobility. Throughout my working life, I have always worked in a health care setting. I am a qualified dental nurse and have worked in this field for 20 years. Most recently, I worked with NHS as a call handler for 5 years, where I have gained a wealth of knowledge of many health conditions, etc. Why have I come to Curum? I have helped care for and personally assist a family friend with vascular dementia, who had quite a lengthy hospital stay after breaking her hip. I have helped this lady build up her confidence in getting her more confident with her mobility by using walking aids etc. I am a great believer in always treating people with dignity, respect, empathy, and honesty. I believe in looking after people the way I would like any member of my family or myself treated if required. I am currently looking for clients that are more mobile until I complete my training certificates. I am unable to lift manual heavy objects or clients due to an injury. I am fully covered for business car insurance. I am available for Monday to Friday and 1 in 3 weekends. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":true,"field_care_type_second":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":true,"field_care_type_fourth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1, 4, 5","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":false,"field_care_type_sixth":"","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":false,"field_care_type_seven":""}

My motto is as long as my service user is happy, I am happy. I am a very flexible person and always do my best to conduct the best care in the interest of the person receiving my care. I have been a professional carer since October 2022 starting in home care and then moving to a company where I predominantly work in Scottish autism. I have lots of years of personal experience as I have a younger sister who has a very severe case of cerebral palsy, therefore I have a great understanding of a few disabilities and how to handle/ care for this. I treat everyone I care for the same as I would treat my sister because I think it is important to treat everyone like family as some care can be very invasive. I feel I have learnt a lot from the people I have cared for, may that be listening to old war stories and getting a cup of tea or helping someone bathe and get ready for the day ahead. I am currently working towards my SVQ 3 in health and social care. I previously was a nursery teacher so working with children is also something I enjoy. 0 1 {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":true,"field_care_type_first":"1","field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":false,"field_care_type_second":"","field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":true,"field_care_type_third":"1","field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":false,"field_care_type_fourth":"","field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":true,"field_care_type_fifth":"1","field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":true,"field_care_type_sixth":"1","field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":true,"field_care_type_seven":"1"}

I offer respite live-in and overnight support and holiday and sickness cover for regular carers. I do not do short visits but I'm happy to discuss your needs if longer periods are needed. I'm pet-friendly, very happy to help look after animals and to cook and/or bake, and to help with gardening, cleaning and tidying, or help with personal care - anything you need, just ask! Everyone is unique and has different needs so the rates given are a guide and always include, of course, insurance, DBS check, Curam fees and VAT. I am also sometimes available for Christmas and New Year cover at my standard rates... please just ask. Please note that I am mask exempt and will not be taking any vaccinations. Not having any grandparents I was drawn to older people as a child and would visit older neighbours and help with ironing, tidying around and filling out forms. I was always fascinated by their early life experiences and loved hearing their stories. On leaving school I went into farming, then to University to study Countryside Management, after which I took a few years out to volunteer in my home town, training as an advisor at my local Citizens' Advice Bureau and with the WRVS delivering Meals On Wheels. In 1997 I moved to London and spent an exciting five years as a Transport Planner and then four years in the Lake District National Park Authority as Traffic & Transport Officer. I started a family in 2002. In 2011 I started working for a local community care organisation, had first aid and medication training and quickly became a Senior Carer taking on Out of Hours management and staff rotas. I then spent two years as a Medical Secretary at a GP practice, consolidating my medical knowledge, and left there to spend the past five years looking after my progressively ill mother, who was nursed in bed with a permanent catheter for the last two years of her life. I was her sole advocate, had Power of Attorney for both financial and health & welfare, and managed her personal affairs as well as her care. I enjoy cleaning, organising, cooking and helping people to get the very most out of life in a limiting situation... I have seen both sides of caring: as both a carer and a broker of care packages. I care about timekeeping, doing things properly and providing added value. Rather than be a time-pressured employee of an agency, I relish the opportunity to make meaningful connections with people and develop trusted friendships: this was what I wanted for my mum. I have a current Enhanced Disclosure certificate and in my previous employment as a community carer I completed medication and moving & handling training, but do not have the paperwork to hand at the moment. I am presently learning Italian, renovating my house and building a wildlife garden and pond, and I enjoy 1940s, 1950s music and classical piano. {"field_week_day_first":1,"field_is_available_first":"0","field_care_type_first":null,"field_week_day_second":2,"field_is_available_second":"0","field_care_type_second":null,"field_week_day_third":3,"field_is_available_third":"0","field_care_type_third":null,"field_week_day_fourth":4,"field_is_available_fourth":"0","field_care_type_fourth":null,"field_week_day_fifth":5,"field_is_available_fifth":"0","field_care_type_fifth":null,"field_week_day_sixth":6,"field_is_available_six":"0","field_care_type_sixth":null,"field_week_day_seven":7,"field_is_available_seven":"0","field_care_type_seven":null}
